The post is quite long, so we won't preview it right now. Show

Hey folks,

Please be aware that we are currently moving offices, so the dev team will not be able to respond as quickly to issues on PTS as we usually try to do. We didn't want to hold back PTS any longer, but we likely will not be able to patch for several days. Once we're back from the move, we'll also take a look at addressing an issue preventing Mac users from accessing PTS. Please bear with us in the meantime as you explore the Crystal Combat Update.

Geode Topside Adventure Worlds
  • 3 new worlds can be found on the Atlas linked to the Geode Hub – a U8, U9 and U10 version of the Geode Topside Worlds.
  • The Geode Topside Worlds have 3 biomes – the Cerise Sandsea, Hollow Dunes, and Weathered Wasteland.
  • 1-star and 5-star dungeons can be found throughout these biomes.
  • Outposts can also be found throughout the biomes – these offer several Outpost Adventures and can be used to loot collect unwanted items.
  • Cornerstones cannot be summoned in the Geode Topside Adventure Worlds.
  • Veridium and Nitro-Glitterine ore can be found scattered throughout the Geode Topside. Nitro-Glitterine is rarer than Veridium.
  • The Geode Topside is affected by Daily Bonuses.
  • Recipes have been added to the Crystallogy workbench that require materials from the Geode Topside.
    • PTS Note: These costs for these recipes are not final, and will see some further review before the update goes out.
5-Star Dungeons
  • 5 Star Dungeons are a new type of dungeon found exclusively in Geode Topside Adventure Worlds.
  • Enter the dungeon and find the Dark Heart within – interact with it to spawn Cursed Skulls and bosses.
  • Defeat all the Cursed Skulls and bosses within the time limit to get an extra reward!
Light and Dark
  • 2 new stats have been introduced – Light and Darkness.
  • Light can be found on Crystal Equipment and Cosmic Gems. Light cannot be removed from these items.
  • Darkness is only found on monsters inhabiting the Geode Topside Adventure Worlds. Light is required to overcome their Darkness and damage them.
Gems
  • All new lesser gems of Shadow Rarity and above now have stats consistent with either Fierce or Arcane Gems. Fierce Gems always grant Physical Damage, while Arcane Gems always grant Magical Damage.
  • A Fierce Gem can never reroll in to the Magic Damage stat, and an Arcane Gem can never reroll in to the Physical Damage stat.
  • Gems can no longer crack while leveling. Because of this, Jade Clovers can no longer be used while leveling gems. Jade Clovers can still be converted in to Glistening Horseshoes on the Adventurer’s Crafting Bench.
  • Gems now have a higher chance to both naturally level up and double level up while leveling.
Cosmic Gems
  • A new type of gem has appeared – Cosmic Gems!
  • Lesser Cosmic Gems come only from Cosmic Gem Boxes, and are not available in the Gem Boxes from Prime Worlds.
  • Empowered Cosmic Gems can drop from existing Empowered Gem Boxes.
  • 4 new abilities have been introduced for Empowered Cosmic Gems:
    • Berserk Battler – Damaging enemies causes a frenzied state, adding a small increase to attack speed and Light. Continued damage to enemies extends the frenzied state until it causes a berserk state, greatly increasing attack speed and Light.
    • Flower Power – Taking damage has a chance to spawn a blast flower which will decay and explode, damaging nearby enemies.
    • Empyrean Barrier – Periodically applies a shield that reduces incoming damage. When the shield is destroyed it explodes, damaging nearby enemies.
    • Vampirian Vanquisher – Dealing critical hits has a chance to increase movement speed and cause the next hit to leech health.
  • Summoning Amberine on the Rally of Heroes will offer an adventure to find 5 cosmic gem boxes in any Geode Topside World. Amberine’s spawn rate and rarity have been adjusted to match other similar Heroes.
Crystal Rarity
  • Crystal Hats, Faces, and Weapons can now drop from lair and dungeon chests in Geode Topside Adventure Worlds.
  • There are 3 tiers of Crystal rarity – Crystal 1, 2, and 3. Crystal 2 equipment can only be found in U9+, and Crystal 3 equipment can only be found in U10.
  • Crystal equipment can have 1-5 stars – the star level of Crystal items can be upgraded at the Forge.
  • Stellar and Crystal equipment return pearls when deconstructed.
  • Crystal equipment drops with a new Crystal style for each equipment slot.
  • Magic Find works differently for Crystal rarity. While higher values of Magic Find will still increase the chance of finding Crystal rarity items, even players with low Magic Find values should regularly find equipment of Crystal rarity.
New Expertise Threads
  • A new Expertise Thread to explain gems has been added to the Expertise tab of the Adventures Activities. This is available for all players above level 10. Complete the Gems thread for experience, a Stellar Mask, Gemsly (a new rare Ally), and a new Badge.
  • A new Expertise Thread to assist players access the Geode Topside is now available at 5,000 PR.
    • PTS Note: Some of these steps are PTS only.
Atlas
  • The Atlas can now be accessed from anywhere through the Atlas hotkey (defaults to CTRL+A).
  • The Atlas is still physically accessible in the Trove Hub.
  • The Atlas has also replaced the Trove Portal in the Geode Hub.
Store
  • New additions to the Store:
    • The Augmented Maniac Pack contains a tradable Sun and Moon Stellar Aura, a tradable Tome: Empowered Gem Box, 5 Class Gem Keys, 20 Empowered Gem Boxes, 200 Gem Booster Boxes, 20 Lustrous Gem Boxes, and 20 Builder’s Superior Focuses.
    • Dragon Coin Boosts – these 50, 100, or 250 Dragon Coin Boosts will double all the Dragon Coins received from any source until 50, 100, or 250 coins have been doubled. Note that these boosts cannot be stacked.
    • Greater Geodian Topside Caches are now available in the store on the Geode tab! Get valuable Geodian Topside crafting materials, gem augments, or (rarely) tradable mounts, allies, tomes, and costumes. Buy 33 and earn a Glowing Geodian Topside Cache, which always contains a rare result from the Greater Geodian Topside Caches!

Club Adventures
  • Heroes (Adventure NPCs) can be spawned at the Rally of Heroes fixture in a Club World.
  • Heroes are classified in several rarities: Common (White), Uncommon (Green), Rare (Blue), Epic (Purple), and Legendary (Orange).
  • Each Hero will remain spawned at the Rally of Heroes for a set amount of time. During their visit, they may fall asleep. These specifics may be managed by a Club Member with the necessary Permissions on the Adventures tab of the Club window.
  • The type of Adventures that Heroes give out may change over time. Their specific adventure tables are also improved by the addition of the Repose of Heroes fixture.
  • Completing Adventures grants a new type of reward currency called Adventurine (Inventory > Flux Tab > Dragon Coin Tab > Club > Adventurine). Patrons receive a bonus 33% Adventurine.
  • Players can complete up to 220 Adventures per day – this cap is intended to be higher than any player is likely to complete in one day.
  • Adventurine can be spent to buy these rewards:
    • New Club décor from the female merchant in the Club HQ at the Hub World

  • Only a limited number of Adventures may be taken simultaneously – the current limit is 3 from your primary club, and 3 from other people’s clubs.
  • Incomplete Adventures will disappear from the Adventure Window one week after they were taken.
  • Adventures are completed immediately when their objectives are finished regardless of the player’s location or if the NPC is still spawned.
  • When an Adventure is completed, Club Experience is granted to the club it was taken from.

Club Fixtures
  • Fixtures are buildings that can be placed in Club Worlds to unlock mechanics, buffs, and even loot chance increases.
  • Benefits from Fixtures only apply in PVE – no placing a Mount Menagerie to get bonus jump in Battle Arenas!
  • At level 1, clubs can only place Base fixtures. Additional fixture slots will unlock as the club levels up.
  • Fixtures can be purchased from the Merchants located on the Trovian Clubit Union fixture. They can be upgraded, placed, or removed by a Club Member with the necessary Permissions on the Fixtures tab of the Club window.
  • The active benefits granted by each fixture can be viewed from the Club list (only for the primary club) and also from the Fixtures tab.
  • Fixtures cost Clubits up front when placed. Each fixture can be upgraded twice for additional Clubits (and an additional increase in weekly costs!)
  • Fixtures require rent (paid weekly) to keep their buffs activated. Placing a fixture for the first time will immediately charge the upkeep cost; upgrading a fixture does not immediately charge rent again, but will increase it.
  • There are 4 types of Fixtures: Base, Combat, Utility, and Ultimate.
  • Base Fixtures:
    • Rally of Heroes – Allows spawning of Adventure Heroes at Hero Rally Points. These Adventure Heroes can be managed by a Club Member with the necessary Permissions on the Adventures tab of the Club window. Introduction
Welcome to the initial public testing period for the Trove – Adventures expansion! These notes provide detailed information about all the great new systems and content available with the update. While most of the features are nearing completion, please be aware that the content you experience may change prior to release of the update. This includes recipe ingredients, reward values, availability of systems, and gameplay balance. You will notice that some systems have yet to receive a final treatment but part of that is also due to us leaving room to incorporate your feedback. We know that there are a ton of notes but appreciate you taking the time to skim through them.
Some systems (like Tethering) are in a [Public Evaluation] phase. This means we need to evaluate how they perform in a populated environment before we add them to the live game. If you see the [Public Evaluation] tag on an update note, please try it out and let us know what you think. We hope you enjoy playing Trove – Adventures!
Character Copy to PTS
  • Characters can now be copied from Live PC to PTS by using the /exportaccount command on Live. This will not copy club worlds.
  • This will completely overwrite your PTS character with your Live character, including your cornerstones.
Clubs 2.0

    • High Power Rating
    • Random
  • To appear in the Club HQ portals, a club must have spent at least 1 clubit in the past week; this is to prevent inactive clubs from appearing.
  • Going through these portals will place the player at the Rally of Heroes fixture in that Club World.
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes the first person in a club to log in was not listed as online within the club UI.
  • Club names are now displayed below the player’s name – an option to hide these can be found in the Settings menu.
    • New Club décor from the female merchant in the Club HQ at the Hub World
    • New Mounts, Styles, Allies and LED Block Recipes from the male merchant in the Club HQ at the Hub World
    • At the Travelling Merchant fixture (Tier 1-3) in a Club World
      • Must be a member of the club to access the Travelling Merchant
      • T2, and T3 Travelling Merchants sell additional items for Adventurine like Blocktron Dragon Egg Fragments, Club Empowered Gem Boxes, Aura: Atom Sphere, and Aura: Restless Remnants
      • Club Empowered Gem Boxes contain a random, guaranteed Radiant Empowered Gem
    • Converted to Clubits at a 10:1 ratio at the Clubit Minting Machine on the Trovian Clubit Union or T1/T2 Travelling Merchant fixtures
    • Converted to Clubits at an 85:10 ratio at the Grand Clubit Minting Machine on the Tier 3 Travelling Merchant fixture
  • Unwanted adventures can be abandoned at will.
  • (PTS only) The Hero NPCs are still being a bit shy and are refusing to get their pictures taken until they collectively have a good hair day. Don’t worry, they’ll have icons in the Adventure window before the update goes live.

Club Members with the necessary Permissions can purchase new fixtures for the club from the Club Combat Fixture Merchant, Club Utility Fixture Merchant, or Club Ultimate Fixture Merchant. If a fixture is unavailable for purchase it means the club either doesn’t have enough cubits or isn’t a high enough level. The Clubit Minting Machine allows any player to convert Adventurine in to Clubits (both found in the currency inventory.) This fixture has no rent cost.

  • If the President of a club becomes inactive for more than 30 days a new President will automatically be promoted based on VP activity.
  • Club permissions are no longer linked to specific ranks within the club. The Club President and any other ranks that have access to “EditPermissions” can define what members can do within a club world.
  • Default permissions are defined for each rank and these settings are largely based on the range of permissions that existed prior to the introduction of this system.
  • Club permissions may be enabled or disabled on the Permissions tab of the Club UI.
  • Permissions List:
    • Modify – The default setting that allows a player to build (modify) in a club world. All club world zones may be modified by anyone who has this permission attached to their rank by default. Dracocolatl is ready to unleash sweet vengeance upon Trovians everywhere! This massive, chocolatey dragon can be found roaming the Candorian landscape or tucked away in a secret, sugary sanctuary.

Tame this savage beast and glide atop a Dracocolatl of your very own by defeating chocolate dragons in the wild and collecting Candorian Dragon Egg Fragments.

It’s not going to be easy! Get ready to be kicked right in the sweet tooth, repeatedly. Chocolate dragons take no prisoners and show no mercy!

With higher risk comes greater reward – the Uber-difficult versions of Dracocolatl are much tougher to take down, but drop more fragments when defeated.

Once you’ve collected all the candied components you need, take them to the Dragon Crucible in the Hub to unlock your very own Dracocolatl, the Mellower!

No - terrain generation is also dependent upon a seed unique to each world. Are you seeing the exact same terrain in the exact same location in different worlds? That shouldn't be happening.

The generation *is* deterministic with respect to a single world, so if you say, terraform a zone to Fae Wilds, then to Candoria, then back to Fae Wilds, Fae Wilds will be the same both times.

Yeah, the maximum quest count is set in the data file for each dungeon.

After going through the files, I think this dungeon has potential, but it's not there yet. The biggest change that I think needs to happen is the use of the actual cityscape for its content. The way it is now, the city is just a facade surrounding a portal, and all the content of your Candopolis takes place in a dark cave. I'm also not a fan of the buildings all being empty shells. If you want to rework this dungeon, you'll need to create quest areas that can spawn in the city and give a sense of purpose to the blank buildings (which will probably require you to spread everything out to keep under the resource budget).

Please upload your files somewhere or send them to [email protected] and I'll take a look.

We have a lollipop lair and maybe two of them already. But for your design, the stick feels a bit too thick compared to the lollipop itself. I would suggest making the stick as tall as you can to make the size feel a bit more correct. Maybe make the candy part larger if possible? I know lairs can be limiting in size. As for the variant, I would just keep the white stick for that one as well. The stripe stick feels a bit off.
