Hey Trovians,

Shadow’s Eve has come and gone and as have the Shadowy Seals and Candy Corn along with it! For a short time this morning, marketplace listings of Candy Corn stuck around longer than expected. We have since canceled the remaining Candy Corn listings, so they could Rest In Piece.

Thank you Trovians for calling this out. We love you!

Shadow's Eve 2019 Bodhi / Trove Forums

The post is quite long, so we won't preview it right now. Show

Candy Corn, Pumpkin Lairs and mostly Shadowy Seals are here from October 22nd (2PM UTC+2/5AM UTC-7), to November 5th! Trove's got you covered for the best Halloween experience you could wish for.

Hub
  • The Hub decoration is one of the best memories one might have from Shadow's Eve previous editions. The 2019 Edition will keep up with the tradition.

Shadow's Eve
  • The 2019 Shadow's Eve Edition has an 8 Adventure chain where players will be awarded one 2019 Shadowy Seal for each step completed.
  • Login Rewards adventures are given each day to provide mechanical rewards, but Shadowy Seals are not granted as Login Rewards.
  • There are three new daily Event Adventures specific to Shadow’s Eve. They can each be completed once per day and reward one Shadowy Seal plus adventure XP upon completion. The NPCs that grant these Adventures can be found in the Trove Hub outside the Pumpkin House.
  • On the Shadowy Station, players can craft two event rewards using the 2019 Shadowy Seals. For 10 Seals they can craft the Ethereal Explorer and for 25 Seals they can craft Flop the Pantolphin. They can also craft previous years content for 5/10 seals each.
  • In case you have too many event tokens, an Event Lootbox that costs 1 Shadowy Seal (2018 or 2019) can be crafted. The Lootbox contains mechanical rewards only and is meant as a way for players to use up any extra Seals.
  • Pumpkin Lairs that appear in any biome have returned too and drop Candy Corn, which can be used to craft Nightmare Mystery Boxes and various collections at the Shadowy Station in the Trove Hub.
  • The Colossal Chiropteran and the Uncanny Coffin can be crafted directly from the Shadowy Station.
  • When completing a 1-Star Dungeon, Todstrom has a chance to appear instead of a chest. Defeat him for an extra “treat” – Candy Corn and a rare chance at a Mobile Mummy mount.
  • At the end of the event all 2018 and 2019 Shadow Seals will be removed from player’s inventories, along with other old event currencies, so be sure to use all your remaining currencies.
NOTE: A small bug will be visible to players for a few hours prior to the event: the new mount recipe will be asking for 2018 tokens instead of 2019 tokens. This will be fixed during Shadow's Eve release day.

We have a hotfix coming to help fix an issue with Lunar Lancer's grapple in clubs and to prepare for Shadow’s Eve this year. Congratulations to House Carys for donating the most during Sunfest. The statue of the Sun Goddess has been rebuilt thanks to your generosity!

  • The Shadowy Station is getting ready for Shadows Eve 2019. It has new sections that are waiting for this yearly event!
  • 2018 Shadowy Seals can now be used to craft candy corn.
  • Bewitching Howlug and Neon Hallowings now require candy corn to craft.
  • The Events section of the currency inventory has been moved to the top of the first tab. It should only be visible during an event when you have an event currency.
  • Old event items have been moved in to a new “Legacy” section of the Crafting Inventory.
  • The following items will persist in the Legacy section of the Crafting inventory:
o Diary Page 1/8

Gardening
  • Gardening now goes to 300 (Horticulturist)!
  • The Gardening bench has been renamed to the Antiquated Gardening Bench. A new Gardening Bench can now be crafted at the builders crafting bench.
  • The requirements for the original gardening recipes have also been shuffled.
  • Unripe Compost Heap has been renamed to Unripe Fertilizer Heap to reduce confusion.
  • New types of plants have been added to Gardening at Gardener (150) level and above:
  • Vegetables - Vegetable plants like Qubbage, Unicorn Chard, and Totter Tates contain vegetables when harvested.
  • Vegetables can be washed at the Vegetable Sink to become food.
  • Prized decorative vegetables or bomb skins can be found rarely when harvesting Vegetables. These decorative vegetables can also be crafted at the Harvesting Bench.
  • Alchemy Plants - Alchemy plants contain crafting materials when harvested.
  • Alchemy plant recipes can be found in Bobble Pods and when opening compost heaps.
  • Alchemy plant seeds can be crafted with gardening (once learnt) or found rarely when throwing Bobble pods or opening compost heaps.
  • Alchemy plant seeds can be composted for a fraction of the materials that would be gained from harvesting the plant.
  • Alchemy plant recipes can be composted back in to a compost heap.
  • Bobble Pods can rarely be found when breaking grass or harvesting Vegetables and Alchemy Plants. Bobble Pods are a new kind of pinata that, when thrown, grow in to a blastflower - pop them to receive rewards like Alchemy Plant recipes, seeds, and Golden Watering Cans.
  • A Ridable Bobble Pod mount can rarely drop for the thrower of a Bobble Pod. This 0 mastery mount is immobile, because no one wants to reenact Day of the Triffids.
  • These new Vegetable and Alchemy plants require watering and time to grow.
  • Most plants require 4 hours to sprout before they can be watered.
  • Once sprouted, a plant can be watered.
  • Once fully watered, a plant can be harvested.
  • Once harvested or watered, a plant cannot be watered again until it's ready. Depending on the plant, this may be 1, 2, or 3 days later. Regardless of what time they were planted, they will always become ready at 11 AM PT.
  • Different plants require different amounts of water before becoming harvestable - for example, Corn on the Qube plants require 4 units of water, while Qumato plants require 1 unit of water.
  • There are also different kinds of watering cans:
  • Watering Can - this consumable watering can grants 1 unit of water to nearby plants. Craftable at Gardener (150) Skill.
  • Everlasting Watering Can - this watering can is not consumable and grants 1 unit of water to nearby plants. This watering can also waters twice as fast. Craftable at Horticulturist (300) Skill.
  • Golden Watering Can - this consumable watering can completely fills the watering requirements for nearby plants, and can be used on plants which have already been watered with a Watering Can or Everlasting Watering Can. Can be found inside Bobble Pods and some Compost Heaps.
  • Kahramet, Warden of the Fields has been attracted to Trove by the new growth in gardening. This new dragon can be crafted at the Dragon Crucible using Blossoming Dragon Egg fragments. She can also be obtained using a dragon effigy or through a golden egg inside of greater dragon caches.
  • Blossoming Dragon Egg fragments can be found inside of Bobble Pods. They can also be composted for Quality Organic Refuse.
  • Moonlight bulbs can now be found all over Trove and Geode. These bulbs concentrate the power of the moon goddess into a harvestable resource. But watch out, the moon goddess doesn't take kindly to these falling into the hands of Trovians and will remove them from your bags when you go offline for more than an hour.

Harvesting Bench
  • The Harvesting Bench can be crafted at the Gardener (150) Skill level of Gardening from the Gardening Bench or the Builder's Crafting Bench.
  • Gardener (150) Skill is required to interact with the Harvesting Bench.
  • The Harvesting Bench can be used to craft various kinds of Compost, Ally Habitats, Mounts, Decorative Plants, Farm Decorations, VFX Blocks, and Frameworks.
  • Rich Fertilizer, Fertile Ash, and Plasmic Solution are also craftable at the Harvesting Bench.
  • Compost Heaps from the Harvesting Bench are a great way to get Concentrated Compost, Moonlight Temper, and Cookie Musk.
  • Ally Habitats are a way to acquire new allies - each home can attract a normal or rare version of the specific ally associated with that home. Ally Habitats require Horticulturist (300) to craft and to harvest.
  • Flowerbed Faerie Habitat - attracts Flowerbed Faerie and (rarely) Flowerbed Countess
  • Purple Glowbug Habitat - attracts Purple Glowfly and (rarely) Brilliant Glowfly
  • Yzzuli's Drone Habitat - attracts Yzzuli's Drone and (rarely) Yzzuli's Queen
  • Appleshell Snail Habitat - attracts Appleshell Snail and (rarely) Sourshell Snail
  • Ally Habitats must be planted in Club Worlds, and are intended to be crafted by the club banding together.
  • The Ally Habitats believe sharing is caring - the ally will be available for anyone with the Horticulturist skill who visits the club. If the rare ally chooses to visit, that will also be available for every visitor with Horticulturist skill.

Compost
  • The Compost Bin can be crafted at the Gardener (150) Skill level of Gardening from the Gardening Bench or the Builder's Crafting Bench.
  • The Compost Bin can be used to craft Organic Refuse from unwanted crafting materials and non-pvp trophies. Prized vegetables may also be composted.
  • Gardener (150) Skill is required to interact with the Compost Bin.
  • Gardening recipes can be composted for Compost Heaps. They can also be deconstructed for blank scrolls, but are locked by default.
  • Items Composted is now a metric than can be viewed by typing /stats in the chat window.

Food
  • Create edible versions of plants by washing them at the Vegetable Sink!
  • The Vegetable Sink can be crafted at the Gardener (150) Skill from the Gardening Bench or the Builder's Crafting Bench.
  • Gardener (150) Skill is required to interact with the Vegetable Sink.
  • A Food slot has been added to the character sheet next to Flasks and Emblems. Make sure all UI mods are updated!
  • Food can be equipped to grant small buffs.
  • Food decays over time - a stack can be equipped, and each piece will last for a certain amount of time before decaying.
  • Once a piece of food has been equipped, it cannot be unequipped - that's just gross!
  • There are rumours that this is only the first bite of food to whet the appetite and give a taste of what's to come - sweeter treats may be coming in a future update. The food abides.

Badges
  • A new set of badges are available for Gardening - earn badges for Harvesting, Watering Plants, and Composting. There's also an additional badge for collecting all of the Alchemy Plant Seed recipes.
  • Each badge will reward the player with Bobble Pods, Instagrowers, Cubits, and sometimes something extra.
  • The Obsidian Harvesting Badge grants the Green Thumbzilla Ally to help harvest plants.
  • The Obsidian Watering Plants Badge grants the Botanic Floralfin Mount to help water plants.
  • New trophies and achievements have been added as well!

Bomber Royale Season 2

New Rewards
  • Bomber Royale now rewards Season Two coins.
  • The Bomber Royale Merchant has updated his stock with a whole new set of rewards, including a new Golden Dragon Egg, the Warpainted Javelina mount, 4 new stellar auras, and a new Legendary Tome.
  • The Golden War Head Dragon Egg unlocks Kyrothon, the War Head, a new Ancestral dragon! Kyrothon shoots rubber bombs, including using any equipped Rubber Bomb styles (more on this new feature under the Store category below).
  • Two Season Two coins can be exchanged for one Season One coin.
  • The Season One rewards are all still available from the Bomber Royale Merchant - hit the green arrows at the top of the menu to switch between Season One and Season Two rewards.
  • The existing Bomb-nanza Balance Sheet: Season One will continue to grant Season One coins.
  • 2 new maps have been introduced for Bomber Royale. Each week 3 of the 5 total Bomber Royale maps will be available, gradually cycling through all of them.
  • The Bomber Royale portal in the Hub will now join players to an existing match if one is available.
  • All players now have the same movement speed in Bomber Royale. Previously some characters were slightly slower.

Store
  • The Sweet Sixteen Pack has been added to the store. This pack grants all of the sixteen currently available classes in Trove - or receive a Credit Pouch for any class already owned before purchasing. Get extra rewards for extra effort!
  • The Cultivated Collection Pack has also been added to the store. This pack grants the Seed Sower mount, Mechanized Hydration Tractor mount, Horticultural Harvest mount, 25 Bobble Pods and 25 Golden Watering Cans (non-tradeable) to help every harvest win the blue ribbon.
  • The Seed Sower mount, Mechanized Hydration Tractor mount, and Horticultural Harvest mount are also available separately from the Style tab. Each mount assists with a different part of Gardening:
  • The Seed Sower plants whichever seeds are selected in the Build Inventory hotbar within a small radius.
  • The Mechanized Hydration Tractor waters all eligible plants within a small radius.
  • The Horticultural Harvester harvests all eligible plants within a small radius.
  • Kahramet, Warden of the Fields is now available via the dragon effigy. Kahramet is also available through a golden egg from greater dragon caches.
  • A pack of Bomber Royale styles have been added to the Style tab of the Store. Personalize Rubber Bombs and Sticky Bombs with 3 styles each. Styles can be found under Collections > Styles > Bomber Royale. Note that Kyrothon, the War Head will use the equipped Rubber Bomb style for his breath attack.
  • Added Bomber Royale Coin Boosts to the More tab of the Store. These boosts will double all Bomber Royale Coins (both Season One and Two) from most sources until 50, 100, or 250 coins have been doubled. Note that these boosts cannot be stacked and coins will not be doubled when converting Season Two coins in to Season One coins.

Shadow’s Eve falls upon Trove on October 23, 2018. This year the spooky celebration is bigger than ever with an 8 Adventure chain, two weeks of Daily Login Rewards, plus all-new Outpost Adventures that can be completed every day of the event!

Looking for a great guide to the festivities? Check out this post from our friends at Trovesaurus.

Shadow’s Eve
Each of the 8 Shadow’s Eve Adventures awards players with a new event reward called Shadowy Seals. You can also earn these seals every day by completing the repeatable Outpost Adventures offered by NPC in front of the Pumpkin House in the Trove Hub.

Each Shadowy Seal can be used at the Shadowy Station to craft scary epic items. Collect 10 Seals to craft the Bewitching Howlug ally. Collect 25 more to craft these gorgeous new Neon Hallowings!

Pumpkin Lairs are back in full force and can appear in any biome, including Forbidden Spires. Complete these dungeons to earn Candy Corn that can be used to craft Nightmare Mystery Boxes and other creepy collectables at the Shadowy Station.

The Colossal Chiropteran and the Uncanny Coffin, which were last year’s Mystery Box top prizes, can be crafted by anyone who missed out on them before.

When completing a 1-Star Dungeon, Todstrom has a chance to appear instead of a reward chest. Defeat him for an extra treat – Candy Corn and a rare chance at a Mobile Mummy mount!

Several sought after Halloween styles have been added to the Autumn Style Unlocker – Freaky Frankie, Moonhowl Mask, Brusque Broom, Bat Bow, and Pumpkin Pounder. In addition to all that, we’ve added 3 new hats styles to the unlocker as well - Pumpkin Pie-rate Hat, Rainbow Unicorn Wig, and Candy Corn Hood!

Pumpkin Lairs can be found in any Prime Adventure World. Beat the stuffing out of these ghoulish gourds to collect loot like Candy Corn. Use this Candy Corn to craft brand new Spookytime Mystery Boxes at one of the Shadow Stations located in the Hub.

The Shadow’s Eve Hub
There’s no reason why the risen dead can’t be adorable! Take a tour of the new Hub, but stick close to your friends – you never know what lurks around the next corner.

Shadow’s Eve Styles
Dress for the season with a bunch of frightening frocks available only during Shadow’s Eve.

Try the Pumpkin Head on for size.

Not everyone has the brains to rock this Zombie Mask.

Those are just two of the many terrifying styles available during Shadow's Eve!

Spooky Mounts
11 mounts can be unlocked this year! Get them from the Daily Login Chests, taking part in the in-game events, the Trove Store or through crafting them at the Shadowy Station! When you're riding in style on the Hyperactive Haunt or Drak-O-Lantern you'll be the envy of the neighborhood!

Very superstitious, writings on the wall
If your sixth sense is tingling you’re not imagining things – you see dead people. The most superstitious among us will have a chance to see the spirit of fallen Trovians during Shadow’s Eve.

The holiday runs from October 11, 2016 through November 1, 2016. That’s three weeks of madness. Shadow’s Eve is so cool it’s scary!

The post is quite long, so we won't preview it right now. Show

Shadow's Eve is Back and Even Better!
  • Pumpkin Dungeons are sprouting in all biomes! Find a giant Jack-O-Lantern and defeat these spooky intruders for candy corn.
  • The Hub is all Shadow’s Eve themed, and includes the Shadowy Station (inside a big pumpkin) where candy corn can be used.
  • You can craft and grow pumpkins once more!
  • The Spookytime Mystery Box is now available at the Shadowy Station. It contains seasonally haunting recipes and the new Hyperactive Haunt and Bouncy Black Bat mounts.
  • The Sugar Crasher and Spirited Broomstick are added to the Shadowy Station as craftable, tradeable mounts.
  • Log in every day for a Shadow’s Eve Daily Reward Chest. This replaces the Daily Reward Chest for the duration of the Shadow’s Eve event, but fear not, you have the same chances of getting rare drops as ever. As an uncommon drop, you may receive Pennry's Phantataur mount!
  • The Phantataur is also available for credits during the event (although honestly, log in every day and you'll almost certainly get one), as is the returning Caskart Mag Rider.
  • Craft the Drak-O-Lantern Dragon Egg or pick it up in the new pack!
  • Some new event objectives are now live! Once you complete the Diamond Dragonite objective these will appear (or once that one expires next week). Complete them all to earn 10 Lapis Luckbugs, 3 Empowered Gem Boxes, and the unique Bitten Kitten mount!
  • Spooky things are afoot. And afloat. Do you see ghosts? How suspicious.
  • This event will run through the end of October and culminate with a special bonus Ninth Life just for logging in on October 28th!

Easy to Use Modding
  • It's now easier than ever to use community created mods to enhance your game!
  • Simply place '.tmod' files into the new 'mods' folder in your Trove installation directory to mod your game.
  • Enable and disable your added mods via the ESC menu in-game.
  • Want to make a mod? Check out this great guide: https://www.trovesaurus.com/page=185...iles-made-easy

Diamond Dragonite
  • You can now craft a Diamond Dragon Egg at the Dragon Crucible using Diamond Dragonite!
  • Diamond Dragonite can be obtained via the new daily contest for total power rank, events, and also a very very rare tradable world drop 'Diamond Dragonite Pouch'.
  • For this week only there is a new limited time objective. Complete 25 challenges (each stage counts for 1) and earn 50 extra Diamond Dragonite!

Store
  • There is a new one time purchasable Dragonite Megapack on the store - this is a great deal for gem boxes and then we threw in 100 Diamond Dragonite straight up on top of that just because.
  • There is now an option to purchase 33 Greater Dragon Caches at once with a bonus Diamond Dragonite Pouch.
  • The Spooky Swag Bag has arrived to set the tone for Halloween! This collection of one Drak-O-Lantern Dragon Egg (which hatches into the very scary Drak-O-Lantern dragon mount), five other great mounts (including Alduir, Autumn's Retreat from Fizzinc ), and four community created costumes:
  • Screamheart's Trovian Defender
  • Zoe's Mermaid
  • LippyLapras's Treasure Trovian
  • FriedSushi's S'more Sweetness

Community Created Content
  • New Jurassic Jungle Lair from Chronozilla! (Note added 1:30 PM PDT 10/11/2016)
  • New Jurassic Jungle Dungeon from Evilagician!
  • New Shadow's Eve Jurassic Jungle Lair from stedms!
  • New Jurassic Jungle Dungeon from Screamheart!
  • New Candoria Dungeon from Aveon0!
  • New Jurassic Jungle Dungeon from Dark_Style_NL!
  • Chaos Chest loot coming throughout the Shadow's Eve event: HotShotChicago's Slightly Singed Skitterer, HotShotChicago's Accursed Arachnid, and Ainogommon's Neverending Necrowmancer

Additional Updates
  • The clocktower in the City of Bones shadow dungeon has been updated to make travel and NPC spawning less of a pain.
  • Challenges and Objectives now show the name of the reward being earned.
  • Rally Blade is now more likely to match you with adventuring players (and ignoring AFK ones)
  • The charge up attack used by the tribal humanoids in the Jurassic Jungle should now hit for much less.
  • Pegasus Wings are now less transparent.
  • The welcome screen no longer displays your chaos factor. Check your character stats if you need to know!
  • Starter classes are now limited to only the 8 most accessible classes. Class coins and other methods of acquiring classes work as normal.

Bug Fixes
  • Kicking from club worlds should work correctly again, again.
  • A relatively common crash involving using the mining laser has been fixed.
  • Fix Mac client being unable to play intro movies with multithreading enabled.
  • '/zonerestrict' should now work correctly
  • Stellar Aura VFX now disappear when you die instead of floating around your tombstone.
  • Fixed projectile targeting in PVP
  • Iguana, and Sarcosuchus NPCs should now drop the correct trophies
  • Fixed bug where shift+mousewheel didn't rotate blocks while in build mode

Patch Notes Updated: Added new lair by Chronozilla.

The crafting station itself will continue to exist in the hub (just not as prominent).

The pumpkin lairs will go away but you can still garden for pumpkins. The candy corn will no longer drop from SAs and the autumn animal and caskart will no longer be available in the store.
