T-83: Sometimes when I change my username I still appear as the old one to some people

I've changed my username a few months ago and since then I've been having issues with other users seeing my old username.
My username now is Identical and it used to be BG_Shirley.
It's always been an issue when renaming that for some users the old username remains but it's never been this consistent.
The main issue with this is that the players that have me appear as ''BG_Shirley'', can't actually add my main. They have to remove my old username from their friendslist in order to friend me. From my perspective however, they're still on my friendslist and there's nothing wrong.

Find a username you like
Use the rename tag (whilst not in hide, people have said before that being in /hide majorly affects how often the bug happens, not sure if this is true though.
I get kicked from the game (which always happens when renaming), I have my new username and for some users I still appear with my old username.
