Switching game modes (pressing TAB twice) disables abilities of polished rings

Context:

I was playing the game and switching game modes

Expected:

I expected the action of switching game modes to have no impact on the ability of a polished ring

Reproduce:

1. Be in any (non-PvP) world.
2. Have a crystal ring equipped with an ability polished
3. Switch game modes (press TAB twice).
4. The ring ability no longer works (unless the ring is re-equipped, world changed or class changed).
