Congratulations! Your creation has been added to Trove - Trovian Hotspot !
It can be found in collections under Styles > Spears > Frontier.
Once you upload your mod to Trovesaurus you ll have a green button on top 'submit mod to developers' . List of all mods that have been submitted (=meaning devs could accept those, if they want/need) is here > https://trovesaurus.com/mods/submitted , click on 'Accepted' to see mods that got in game.
@Ylva
thats what i meant ^^
yeah, im using some mods (to see things better - like the crosshair mod ... because i rellay loose the overview in battle sometimes XD)
but i think i will stick to create something here and hope it will find its way into the game. because i would really like to see my creations in and actual add something to trove.
the thing with mods for styles is that i would override the artwork of someone else (even if its just visual for the user of the mod) ... and i dont like the idea of that ^^"
as you said "ideas for costumes or mounts" a question popped into my mind:
we can submit things like decorations, weapons, helmets, hairstyles, hats and dungeons here.
but are we also able to submit stuff like ships, wings, mounts, fishing poles, skins, pets, costumes, etc?
Thanks for fixing those material maps!
Spear looking great, good job. Approved!
If by 'in action' you mean outside of metaforge - there is a way to replace in-game styles (or costumes/mounts/etc) with your own designs for your client in a more permanent way than /wp, which i believe would revert itself on any world/class change. Its explained under the fold over here > https://trovesaurus.com/page=3749/how-to-get-started-with-trove-creations#previewing-files-by-modding-them-into-the-game
Short version - you take your blueprint and put it into Trove/Live/override folder.
If you do not have that folder - make a new folder and rename it to 'override'.
You also need to rename the blueprint itself, so the game would know which in-game item needs to use that override - pick an existing style you want to replace, let say you chose [Sparring Spear]. Locate the name of its blueprint on the page - equipment_weapon_spear_starter
and rename your own design sitting in override with that.
Next time you log in after doing that - all the Sparring Spears you see (on your own character or other players) will appear to be using your design. Only you would see that change.
That works on everything like costumes, mounts, allies, banners, inventory items and so on. However we can not replace models of the Dungeons or natural props this way.
If you d like to try modding - we have a guide for that too, with video and more text in notes :) https://trovesaurus.com/mods/learn
Difference between modding and Creations that we have here - creations cover separate styles (ones that dont come with a costume), decorations and most importantly Dungeons. Creations are moderated, as you might ve noticed :) That is because adding a dungeon in game that is not working properly would be a really bad thing. Decorations must also follow the rules, and styles without costumes must work on as many costumes as possible (preferably all) and so they must follow the rules too.
Mods on the other hand do not have any restrictions aside from being family-friendly. Developers sometimes accept mods for the game, mostly for Chaos Chests, and in such a case they check every mod they are accepting by themselves.
You should try your hand at modding too, im sure you have at least a couple of ideas for costumes or mounts :P
From a glance that looks about right.
Unfortunately it is not possible to change class (or equip any mount other than slow sebastian) in metaforge, but it should be possible to trial any class on Live even if you dont have and use /wp on it :)
@Ylva
Ah, ok so if i get it right its like that:
Type and Specular
- solid = rough/metal/water/iridescent/ waxy
- glass/ tiled glass/ glowing solid/ glowing glass = rough
but
- glass/ tiled glass/ glowing solid/ glowing glass ≠ metal/water/iridescent/ waxy
Great, i always wondered how to change the class in metaforge so i can show the right one for the weapons i created ... well to know that i can do this stuff outside of this will spare me from this hassle ^^.
thank you very much (oh and the time will come where there is no issue with the maps in my creation ;) )
Hello :)
This is great, i really like the idea! I think its alright to have some not-sharp spears, i can recall at least a Swinging Sapling and
Pot o' Gold Poker styles that happily exist in collections.
It seems i cant approve it right away though, as material maps are overlapping each other. For the glowing-hot-metal part you are using both Glowing on Type map and Iridescent on Specular map. Game engine can not render something that is 'glowing iridescent' or 'glowing metal', or 'glass metal' and so on. If something it mapped on Type as glass/glowing/glowing glass - it must be Rough on Specular. Other way around is valid too, if something is mapped on Specular as waxy/water/metal/iridescent - it must be plain white (255.255.255) on Type.
Im aware that visual guide on Trove Wiki is using an map overlap in the example, but that is not something i can update and i do try to warn everyone about it.
I have highlighted those overlapping areas in yellow, you can see same blocks marked on both maps. An option without Type map would work as fine as Rough-on-Specular one, but it cant be the current lay out :(
You can always check for such issues with Lint and Export button in Troxel. Open your design and find Trove Creations section on the right side bar navigation. Select the type of your opened creation and click it - that will highlight all possible technical issues, if there are any.
Also, please be sure to take screenshots of the weapons on appropriate classes. Meaning, Knight does not wield a spear in game, so previewing it on knight is not quite informative. You can use the /wp blueprintname
outside of the Metaforge too! Other players wont see it, just like they dont see mods you might be using.
Going to set this one to Active for now. Hoping to see it again on review with proper maps!
i know, i know... im halfway missing the point of a spear (long shaft with a POINTY end) ^^"
but i had the dream of a lunar lancer running trough the desert, trying to put a branding on everything that moves... so i had to create this ^^
(maybe i shouldnt watch western movies while playing trove before going to bed XD)
