Window Fit for a Fae

Hello there!

I present thee a much needed (in my not so humble opinion) Fae themed stained glass window! Behold the pure elegance of this delicate aperture encased in stone with a solid, yet not so tight frame, bathed in a dark malachite color. While frames are great, the main attraction of this design is the glass itself, a sea of purples and pinks which will remind you of a marvelous twilight sky.

But wait! There is more! While one window is good and all, how about three? "Holy molly macaraoni? Not just one window only?". That's right! Three tileable pieces which stand shockingly well on their own! Fret not, since they are designed right in the middle of the 12x12x12 limit, you don't have to worry about rotating them wrong! Tall window FTW HOLY ****heavy beep*.

*GASPS* NOT CONVINCED YET????? hhhhhMMMMMM???? I invite you, dear Trovian, to see what this "benevolent" Fae ruler has to say: "I used to look down on my subjects from my shabby blocky openings, but now I can't take my eyes of them windows. I stopped looking through and now I look at! I feel like a better Fae now! Ten out of ten, would strongly recommend!"

Now that's what I call a satisfied customer!

Phew... now that was some "advertisement". Since that circus is over, here are the links to the other models:

Section B: https://trovesaurus.com/l=3827

Section C: https://trovesaurus.com/l=3828

All pieces together for example purposes ofc: https://trovesaurus.com/l=3829

***In Troxel it says:" Specular material map used on a non solid voxel!". It's just a warning, but on https://trove.fandom.com/wiki/Material_Map_Guide it says that it can be used. Or is it??? I used wax specular for the windows.***

Also, I did not mention this in my advertisement "because reasons", but you can use these as trims too, as in put them in a row between 2 blocks! Haha, now there is another use for this design. One can only hope and imagine.

//Sorry for different times of day in the pics, I got lazy!//

@Ylva

I see what you meant now. I think I can implement this laughing

@Funkalicious

At the moment there is no site functionality to post/approve more than one creation at a time. I asked devs couple of days ago how would they prefer to handle sets (and to verify that they are interested in sets at all) but i havnt got a response yet. Expecting answer on monday or so, workdays. Its likely that on the site it will stay as is for some time.

As for stained glass and shutters, i didnt mean them to be closed, something along those lines:

@Ylva

Thank you for the reply and for clarifying the mapping confusion! I will fix them and yes the window with the rounded features looks the best, but If only that gets into the game, stacking it vertically wouldn't look so good so I would have to lower the rounded part in the model or I could make another with that feature a bit different. Yes, the others don't have rounded features, but I made them to complement the rounded one. Think of the rounded one as the cherry on top, the defining feature of the set (all the other pieces lead to the main one). A lot of rounded windows would create a lot of noise imho, but again, I will still look into it. Also, I learned from my previous 6 part painting that all pieces should go together and stand well on their own. This design is the proof of it. Now the question is, even though they work as requested, do I have to make separate threads for each individual piece? If that is the case, I don't want to sound condescending, but I would think of it to be a bit tedious. I only wanted to give instant variety with this combo.

PS: The different color idea is a good one and I will look into because in the end they are stained glass windows. This fact implies that shutters would not be an option for this design.

Hello!

Sorry for delay.

Beautiful windows, love them all :) Great style, very fae.

Dont worry about different times of day, its actually great to see how same materials would look in different lighting.

Material maps, the visual guide is awfully off on overlapping maps, there is no such thing as glowing metal or waxy glass. If voxel is mapped Glowing on Type it can not be anything else other than Rough on Specular and plain white on Alpha. Thus, that waxy will have to turn into Rough.

When you export decorations from Troxel as links, please uncheck 'resize to bounding box', links im seeing all contain tight fit bounding boxes, which makes it hard to tell where in the 12x12x12 a deco was meant to be placed.

About the set though. I really think you should pick one of those 3 and make a separate post out of it. One with glass rounded on top is my favorite since the other two have straight lines only and Fae is very much about organic shapes.

With the way they are now, i seriously doubt i would be able to approve all 3, but you could make them more different by may be adding some shutters (closed/open?) or going for different colored glass (irrc fae also features blue) or may be even without glass.

Going to set this post to Active, hoping to see one of those pretty windows with proper maps on review :)
