Hey there. The merchant isn't something we can put back into the game without a substantial amount of work. However, we made it so the Diggsly Coins can still be used up after the event. Visit the Wheel of Seasons and craft Leaderboard Chests under the Winter tab.

Starting on February 5, 2019 you can earn rewards by helping Diggsly track down his missing shadow during the two-week Subterranean Scramble event!

You’ll also earn daily login rewards for each day of the event, but the best loot is picked up by taking part in the search and completing new adventures to earn Diggsly Coins. Find Mortsdot, the son of Todstrom, hanging out in the Hub. He’ll sell you goodies in exchange for your collected Diggsly Coins.

Also, during Subterranean Scramble, you’ll find Promising Bronze and Silver Eggs in the Geode caves. Use a Lodestar on these special eggs for a guaranteed chance at the next rarity level.

Greater Geode Caches will also grant Lodestars instead of Crystals while this event is live. If you prefer Crystals to Lodestars, you’ll be able to pick up 1250 for each Lodestar broken down in the Loot Collector.

Our friends at Trovesaurus have a guide to the event you can find here.

Also, jump into their Discord channel to discuss this event, the game in general, find groups to explore with, and much more!

Thanks for playing!

Unleash fury on the forces of shadow as Crystal Combat comes to consoles on February 5, 2019! Along with the introduction of Uber 10 adventure worlds on Geode’s topside, we’re also bringing an all-new, two-week long event, Subterranean Scramble.

Geode’s Topside
This massive Trove update lets players go on the offensive against the powerful shadowy invaders that have been wreaking havoc on Geode’s surface. These new combat zones cover Uber difficulty levels 8-10 and introduce three brand-new biomes: Cerise Sandsea, Hollow Dunes, and Weathered Wasteland.

Explore huge 5-star dungeons and trigger the Dark Hearts within to unleash a torrent of enemies that want to lay waste to all who stand in their way. Take them down quickly and earn extra rewards!

There are two new stats introduced in Crystal Combat: Light and Dark. Light is a stat found on Crystal gear while Dark exists exclusively on the enemies on Geode. Without the Light stat, you’ll find it virtually impossible to defeat enemies bathed in Dark.

Crystal Rarity
This new item rarity can be found on hats, faces, and weapons in the loot chests from defeating dungeon bosses on Geode’s surface!

Subterranean Scramble
During this event, Trovians will work on behalf of Diggsly to find out what happened to his shadow. Earn Diggsly’s Tokens by doing repeatable daily adventures and exchange them for new goodies!

Gems
We’re very excited to give everyone a chance to discover the changes coming to Gems. A few highlights include removing the cracking mechanic so Gems will never break when upgrading; a new Gem Augment called Contained Chaos Flare; an all-new Gem type called Cosmic Gems!

Cosmic Gems will not replace your existing Gems. Instead, they provide new stats and abilities.

To help players learn how to best utilize Gems as they level, we’re also adding a new Expertise Thread that can be accessed via the Adventures menu.

Dragons
With Crystal Combat players will discover two new dragons:
  • Jhorondir, Arms of the Goddess[/*]

  • Phyconidia, Sower of the Sandsea[/*]

Trove – Crystal Combat gives every Trovian a chance to grow more powerful than they could have ever imagined!

  • Why do all the different colored biome blocks turn grey when you mine them? Most you can never match with the color block bench. What's the point of not letting you have the color you mine?
  • If all you get from most biomes are grey blocks, why are some much harder to mine than others? What's the point? They're not any more valuable.
  • Why is diggsly such a rare drop now? What is the reasoning? You just want to collect blocks so you can build after all. Why make this little assistant almost impossible to find now?
  • When digging down deep, why is there NO ore to be found? You should have this little reward for mining deep and also to make you feel like you've found treasure once in awhile. Two other similar games I can think of do have ore scattered deep down. Why keep everyone tied to the surface or open caverns when mining?
  • Why are there no caves deep down when you mine. This would add SO much interest to the game.
Interesting set of questions, answers below:
  • The colored blocks is simply an inventory solution. We let generated block colors be almost anything, so refunding the exact color would be crazy big (also you'll note that 'natural' blocks have shading over large areas). We're going to do a pass on the crafted colors and fill in some of the missing natural blocks as well.
  • Different mining speeds is there mostly to give the game world more texture, deeper down blocks require longer to mine.
  • Diggsly has always been pretty rare (or store bought before). Pets in general are getting a big update and there should be more than just one way to get that +lasermancy
  • More interesting cave gameplay is definitely on our list. Right now our list of new gameplay types goes as follows: gliding and sky islands, water and related, underground. One of our big goals this year will be to expand out the types of gameplay you find in Trove and underground is one area that we see the potential for improvement in for sure.
  • The same reason as above for the caves - basically we just haven't gotten to give it the big pass it needs. It's functional so we're focused on a few other areas first (sky and water) then it will be back to underground (and more mag rider love!)
