Delves FAQ

What are Delves?
Delves are new, endless cave dungeons filled with increasingly difficult combat, randomized monster modifiers, and exciting new items to loot! Quickly dive through these procedurally generated Delves, complete the objectives, and defeat the boss fast enough for great rewards and the ability to keep going deeper! The further you progress, the greater the challenges and the rewards!

Find the Public Delves entrance in the Hub and select from a wide variety of classes, utilize your Geode equipment, and choose your flasks wisely as you battle your way to unlock incredible rewards – especially for end game content. The initial release for the Trove Delves update will be on PC only and then will release on PS4 and Xbox One consoles at a later date.

What are the types of Delves?
There are 3 types of Delves - Public Delves, Private Delves, and Challenge Delves. Delves have modifiers signified by Deltaliths, visible in the first room and in the lair room.

Public Delves – Delves that are open to public or players queued during that time and determine your Public Delve Score based on progress. Join the Public Delve Queue Portal in the Hub (where the Bomber Royale building used to be) and whichever class is selected will be locked in for this Public Delve. The difficulty of Public Delves is determined by the Public Delve Score for the queued class of each player that ends up in the Delve group and at most will take 10 minutes to find a group to start. The /joinme command can be used to reinvite players who may have disconnected, but cannot be used to invite new players into a Public Delve. Mounts and wings can be used in Public Delves (except for Ganda’s special ability).

Private Delves – Delves that are limited to select players and the overall difficulty is determined by the Public Delve Score for the queued classes at the time the Delve starts. Join a Private Delve by placing a Delve Gateway (Private) in build mode and remember to be careful as anyone nearby can use it. The owner of a Delve Gateway (Private) will automatically queue when placed and can interact with it by sending messages or advancing the queue to start the Delve. Private Delves allow players to change their class at will, but they are limited to only use Delve mounts and wings. The /joinme command can be used to invite more players (up to a maximum of eight unique players in to a delve).

Challenge Delves –Delves that are set as a fair playing field for all delvers to compete against others and determine who can go the furthest in this specific week’s challenge. Join a “Delve Gateway (Challenge Mode)” or “Delve Gateway (Challenge Easy)” by obtaining it from the Delve Workbench. Challenge Delves pose a weekly challenge set with the same objectives, creatures, and levels for everyone for that week only. The challenge level begins at 110 each week and there are Leaderboards for the deepest depth reached and fastest time for clearing 3 consecutive tiers in a row. Challenge Delves allow players to change their class at will, but /joinme or using the friends list to join are not enabled.

How many people can be in a Delve?
Up to 8 unique players may be in a Delve and it is locked to those 8 unique players that join, this may not be changed or exceed 8 players. Delve queues focus matching players together based on the overall power and skill. If a player dies in a Delve, it will increase the time it takes to release when their next death occurs, but remember allies will always be able to resurrect others in just a few seconds!

What kind of rewards do I get from Delves?
Defeat a Delve boss to have a Pressurized Chest appear. For every 3rd consecutive tier cleared this drop will upgrade to a Heavy Pressurized Chest with additional loot. After Depth 25 and beyond, a Shadowy Soul Vault will also appear with special rewards when a Heavy Pressurized Chest drops. A Delve Shadowkey is required to open the Shadowy Soul Vault.

Inert Geodes – New currency type that can be acquired inside Delves. There’s a maximum amount allowed to be obtained, so be sure to use it before reaching the cap. An Inert Geode Wallet can be obtained to increase this cap as well.

Pressure-Locked Delve Caches – Caches with Delve-related items that can be purchased for Inert Geodes from a Geodian merchant trapped within Delves They can also be obtained as drops from Heavy Pressurized Chests, as a reward for donating Inert Geodes, and occasionally sold or exchanged for other Delve related goods.

Mementos – New collectible in Delves, and each Memento grants mastery based on the enemies fought within the Delve Tier. Mementos decay after 3 hours of online time if they are not learnt, but can be deconstructed in to Pressure-Locked Delve Caches.

Delve recipes – New delve recipes for advanced tracking potions can be found on Geodian Merchants that are also trapped within Delves. Trapped Geodians are freed occasionally when defeating Delve Lair Bosses.

Delve banners - New Banners can be obtained through Delves and can be crafted by combining poles, flags, and Inert Geodes at the Delve Workbench in the Hub. In addition to the Light Banners craftable at the Delve Workbench, for those with Enchanted Seasinew Torches or Enshadowed Tendril Torches, new recipes to upgrade these items can be found on the Sunseeker's Crystalforge in Geode Topside.

Delve allies – New allies can be found in appropriate biomes or crafted at the Delve Workbench.

Delve mounts – New mounts, some of which are special Shadow Tower boss themed mounts, are available to acquire.

Delve badges - New badges will be available for completion of Public, Private, and Challenge Delves.

Crystal Gear – New Crystal 4 gear is obtainable only within Delves for the most daring and expert explorers.

What level or mastery level can I join Delves?
There is no level or mastery restriction to join Delves, so new or experienced players are welcome to join. In Public Delves, players are typically paired with others around their appropriate skill and power levels and the Delves encountered are adjusted accordingly.

What about Shadow Day and Shadow Towers?
Shadow Day is now changed to Delve Day with triple Crystal, Shadow Shard, and Inert Geode Drops for Patrons and only double Crystal, Shadow Shard, and Inert Geode Drops for non-Patrons.

Shadow Towers can now open directly to the boss lair, but there is an increased cost to open the portals. The Shadow Tower Leaderboard purple name has moved to the Challenge: Deepest Depth (Weekly) Leaderboard. Shadow Towers have had Titan Soul, Lunar Soul, Binding Darkness, and Starfire Dragon Egg Fragments drops removed since they can now be obtained through Delves.

Delves provide exciting and engaging new challenges ahead while also offering the potential to improve our overall server stability by helping reduce some lag and connection issues generated from Shadow Towers. Rewards have been shifted accordingly for Delves, but Shadow Towers still remain for those looking to adventure there.

Geode
  • Rowan has been sending out an SOS, and the Trovians have responded! It's time to go visit that mysterious cube that's been showing up on the Atlas.
  • Geode is a whole new world with its own Hub. Explore the caves of Geode, meet new Companions, and gather resources to level Crystallogy.
  • To the East of the Trove Hub is the giant SS Solidarity that'll carry any Trovian to Geode - just look for the Geode portal on the ground or climb up the ship. Geode can also be accessed via the Atlas.
  • Follow the Geode Expertise Thread to get an explanation of all things Geode. It will start automatically the first time you zone in to Geode. All but the first of these Adventures will grant class experience upon completion along with the various item rewards.
  • Daily Bonuses do not apply when you're on the planet Geode, except XP day.

Geode - Sanctuary
  • Sunseeker Spire - the Geode Hub is where all the Geodians from the largest Boulder to the smallest Pebble have gathered to resist the Shadows.
  • The Geode Hub consists of four levels:
    • The 1st level is where portals to the Geode Caves can be found along with a module forge and module workbench.
    • The 2nd level is Crafter’s Commons. Around the edges of this level can be found:
      • The Crystallogy Center, where Sunseeker Lazul teaches about Crystallogy, an ancient Geodian profession
      • The Companion Ranch where Sunseeker Gabbro awaits to assist with hatching or training Companions
    • The 3rd level is Sunseeker Square, where the Sunseekers make their home. Around the edges of this level can be found:
      • The Reliquary Research Center for all Reliquary-related needs
      • The Bomber Royale Blastadium for all Bomber Royale rewards
    • The 4th level is Sunseeker Landing - access this area to go back to the Trove Hub. The Blue Transit Portal in Crafter’s Commons will fast travel right there!
  • Travel between levels using either the Transit Portals or the airavators (built with the new Anti-gravity blocks).
  • Three new repeatable Adventures are available from assistant Pebbles found near Lazul, Th’lan, and Gabbro. These Adventures reward class experience and Lesser Crystal Caches for the first 20 completions per day.
  • Sunseeker Spire is protected by a massive energy shield that keeps the Shadows out and the Geodians in. The surface outside the shield is too dangerous for Trovians currently. Once the Trovians are better prepared, they will be able to venture beyond the barrier and into the Geodian wilderness.

Geode Caves
  • Travel through 3 new environments to gather resources, upgrade new modules, and meet a new set of creatures.
  • Geodians are usually pacifists, so aggressive abilities are not allowed in the caves - instead there are Modules to assist in cave journeys.
  • The atmosphere of the caves is intense and difficult for Trovian life – no mounts, wings, or allies can be summoned in the caves.
  • Up to 14 players can be found in the same cave at a time. Players cannot be invited in to caves.
  • All caves have up to 5 tiers. Travel through airlocks in order to reach deeper tiers of the caves.
  • Look for signs in the cave that point to lairs – lairs can contain a jackpot of resources, sometimes including a Bronze Companion Egg!
  • All caves contain Gleamstone, Builderite, Ancient Gears, Day Drops, Moonlit Moss, and Wallflowers.
  • The Moonglow Grotto is a predominantly purple cave that uniquely contains Moonstone, Quirkstone, Lunarium, Dream Dew, Acrobat Bark, and Queen Trumpets.
  • The Sunken Sunvault is a predominantly orange cave that uniquely contains Blazine, Sparkzite, Everlight, Sun Sap, Cave Birds, and Fireheart Flowers.
  • The Verdant Veins is a predominantly green cave that uniquely contains Geminite, Chronozine, Mightstone, Cave Kelp, Cogwine, and Builder’s Blossoms.
  • Watch out for hazards - the caves contain explosive plants, fire flowers which will drain N-charge, and creatures.
  • Creatures can be injured, hungry, cold, or overburdened with treasure. Solve their problems to receive crystals or Lesser Crystal Caches!
  • Lesser Crystal Caches can contain crystals or (rarely) Crystal Pinatas, Drillbits, or Bronze Companion Eggs.
  • Drillbits can be used to craft the Bovine Buildmaster or Rocket Drill mounts.

Reliquaries
  • Reliquaries are resource caches which can be equipped while exploring the Geode caves to charge them up.
  • Reliquaries are charged up by feeding, healing, and comforting creatures in the caves.
  • After a Reliquary is fully charged, take it to the Reliquary Cracker in the Geode Hub to open it!
  • Reliquaries can have their chances of an uncommon or rare result improved through the use of Lodestars.
  • Most Reliquaries will take 6 hours to open, while rare Reliquaries will take 2 hours.
  • Accelerite can be applied to speed up Reliquary opening - each Accelerite consumed will reduce the time by 2 hours.
  • Additional Reliquary slots can be obtained using Space Expanders.

Modules
  • Modules are a new type of equipment that will assist progress through the Geode Caves.
  • There are 8 modules, and all can be leveled 10 times. Leveled modules are more efficient in even the early cave tiers.
    • The Geodian Acclimation System (GAS) controls how long the player can survive in the caves. Upgrading it allows for longer, deeper cave dives. When you're out of GAS, you're out!
    • N-Charge powers the other modules - upgrade it to stay stronger longer.
    • The Omni-Tool allows the player to harvest Geodian blocks and interact with cave creatures. Upgrade it to mine faster or further.
    • The Climbing Claw allows the player to grapple to any location within range or to stun cave creatures. Upgrade it to travel faster or further and stun stronger creatures.
    • Rocket Boots allow the player to hover or travel upwards to reach resources that might otherwise be difficult.
    • The Thumper makes crystals and ore visible that would otherwise be hidden.
    • Barrier Generator protects against fire flowers and other hazards.
    • Path Painter allows for marking paths. While staying on a marked path, movement speed is increased.

Companions
  • Companions are cave creatures who've been raised to assist the player in the caves.
  • There are 8 types of companions with 3 different rarity tiers.
  • All Companions grant various benefits when taken on journeys in to the Geode Caves.
  • Companions can be hatched from Bronze, Silver, or Gold Companion Eggs. Gold Companion Eggs are always a rare result, while Silver Companion Eggs are always an uncommon or rare.
  • Companion Eggs can be hatched in the Egg Incubator found in the Geode Hub near Gabbro.
  • Bronze Companion Eggs can have their chances of an uncommon or rare result improved through the use of Lodestars.
  • Companion Eggs will take some time to hatch - Bronze Companion Eggs will hatch in 10 hours, while Silver and Gold Companion Eggs hatch in 2 hours.
  • Accelerite can be applied to speed up Egg hatching - each Accelerite consumed will reduce the time by 2 hours.
  • Companions can be trained in the Companion Trainer found next to the Incubator. Training Companions will add new benefits or increase existing ones.
  • Any unwanted Companions (you monster) can be sent to find a much better, actually loving home by using the Forever Home Finder near the Egg Incubator.

Crystallogy
  • Crystallogy is a new profession found in the Geode Hub.
  • Gain resources while in the Geode Caves in order to level up this profession and craft all the recipes.
  • This profession has recipes for items to assist cave travel in various ways, including assisting cave creatures, tomes for Geodian resources, costumes, and even Space Expanders to add additional reliquary or incubator slots.
  • New VFX Blocks can be crafted from this profession. Add a range of vfx to a cornerstone or club world with these blocks.
  • New Anti-gravity blocks can also be crafted from this profession. Add an airavator to a cornerstone or club world with these new blocks!
  • A new Geode Biome workbench has been added to the Crystallogy Center. Recipe unlockers for the recipes on this workbench can be crafted via Crystallogy.

Geode Mastery
  • Geode has a new type of Mastery.
  • Acquiring items from the Geode Caves, leveling Crystallogy, or leveling Modules will all grant Geode Mastery. (These all continue to also grant Trove Mastery.)
  • Geode Mastery contains rewards to assist progress through the Geode caves – earn metamatter to level Modules, Eggs to earn new Companions, and Space Expanders to unlock additional reliquary or incubator slots.
  • Geode Mastery does not grant stat bonuses.
  • A /geodemastery command is available, similar to the existing /mastery command.

Leaderboards
  • Geode Mastery Points – Tracks total Geode Mastery points. The top 2000 players in this category receive a blue name color weekly.
  • Total Mastery Points – Tracks combined Mastery and Geode Mastery points. The top 2000 players in this category receive an orange name color weekly.

Bomber Royale
  • Bomber Royale is a new competitive combat mode that can be accessed via a top level menu item – it’s literally the bomb.
  • Up to 20 players can join in a Bomber Royale match, although the match will start 15 seconds after 15 players are queued.
  • Players will start on a glass platform that deconstructs, eventually dropping them to the actual map.
  • Bomber Royale maps are completely destructible and will randomly deconstruct themselves over time. The goal is to be the last player standing - literally!
  • Bomber Royale is completely independent of class abilities - every player starts equipped with Rubber Bombs and a Climbing Claw. All players also have the same health and energy amounts.
    • Rubber Bombs are a thrown explosive that bounce off the first surface they hit and explode on the second surface. They consume energy when thrown and will damage other players.
    • The Climbing Claw is a grappling hook that pulls the player to the target location.
    • Several power ups are available across the map:
    • Rubber Bomb power ups decrease the energy cost of throwing a Rubber Bomb
    • Climbing Claw power ups decrease the cooldown of the Climbing Claw ability
    • Health power ups heal the player when triggered - but also slow them down! Only one can be held at a time.
    • Lava Bomb power ups change the next 3 Rubber Bombs thrown to Lava Bombs - these will turn the area in to lava, including any water
    • Sticky Bomb power ups grant the Sticky Bomb on the first pick up, and reduce the cooldown on subsequent gains. The Sticky Bomb does not bounce - it lands in one spot and explodes 5 seconds later.
    • Bomb Jump power up grants the use of the Bomb Jump ability. Bomb Jump gives the player a little escape ability - use it to quickly blast out of the way or knock back an opponent.
  • The last 10 players standing will receive the following rewards:
    • 3 coins to the last player standing
    • 2 coins to the last 2-4 players standing
    • 1 coin to the last 5-10 players standing
  • The first player to kill an opponent will also receive a coin.
  • Coins can be redeemed for rewards at the Bomber Royale Merchant in the Geode Hub.

Inventory Changes
  • To accommodate the new items added in Geode, 2 new inventory tabs have been added.
  • A module inventory has been added to hold modules for exploring the Geode caves. Players cannot directly interact with the modules in the inventory – but can upgrade them at the Mining Facility in the Geode Hub.
  • The Geode inventory tab contains all the resources collected in Geode, including Companions.
  • The Geode inventory tab will have the same amount of unlocked space as the Adventure and Build mode inventory.
  • An additional free tab has also been added to the Personal Chest.

Bomber Royale Changes
  • A couple of potential Bomber Royale maps are currently running on PTS, but may not be included in the final Improvements Update. Please feel free to give feedback on these maps!
  • Kill credit is now granted to the most recent player to damage someone if they die from environmental damage or falling within 15 seconds.
  • Bomber Royale experience gain has been tuned to award more active, aggressive play. Some experience is now granted based on damage done to other players, and the amount of experience granted for just staying alive has been reduced. Experience for each kill has also been reduced since it is now easier to get credit for kills on players who die from lava or falling. Average experience gain may be lower, but very aggressive and accurate players will be more rewarded.
  • The Bomber Royale scoreboard will now show how much damage has been dealt by each player (not including lava bombs).
  • Damage Done (not including lava) in Bomber Royale is now also tracked in /metrics.
  • In Bomber Royale, there is now an option to spectate the rest of the match. Which living player is being watched can be swapped at any time, and if the current target dies it will automatically swap.
  • Fixed a rare issue that could join players to the same team, preventing them from damaging each other.

Club and Adventure Changes
  • Clubs can now be reordered in the Club List.
  • Primary Clubs will always use channel c1. The other clubs will follow the same order as the Club List.
  • An X button has been added to the Liked Worlds UI, allowing players to remove clubs from the Liked Club World list even if the Homeworld Heart has been removed.
  • Clubs ranks now have a PresidentialCandidate permission, and only players in ranks with this permission will be considered to replace an AWOL president. If a president is AWOL and there is no one in a rank with the PresidentialCandidate permission who is also not AWOL, then that club will continue to be run by the AWOL president. Note that if a president leaves a club, all bets are off and the server will still pick someone to replace them, even if there is no one in a rank with the PresidentialCandidate permission.
  • The Club Adventure “Complete PVP Arena Matches” has been replaced by a new Adventure to throw 100 Bombs in Bomber Royale.
  • The Club Adventure “Complete Timed Challenges” has had its required count changed from 10 to 3.
  • The Club Adventures "Collect a Chaos Chest" and "Collect Chaos Chests" will no longer grant credit for Chaos Chests acquired from deconstructing other items.
  • An /adventurerewards command has been added to show the number of rewards available for various adventure types.
  • Adventures can no longer be accepted if they will not grant any rewards. (Note that club XP is considered a reward, so club adventures can be accepted past the 220 limit.)

Ice Sage Changes
  • The Ice Sage DPS has been increased to be more in line with the other classes in Trove. The Ice Sage's control over multiple enemies has also been improved and expanded. We have switched around the ultimate ability, 'The Big Chill' to make it more of the Ice Sage's normal kit rotation. We felt the ability to freeze muliple targets is unique to the Ice Sage, is a lot of fun and should be available for use more frequently.
  • Originally, Frozen Ward was designed to behave like a panic button for when things were not looking good for the Ice Sage. Because the shield lasted indefinitely and provided a DPS increase, it made this ability more of a requirement for the class (due to it lacking DPS overall) and less of a second chance at life.
  • While we have moved, 'The Big Chill' to the Ability1 button, we overhauled the way Frozen Ward works, moved it to Ability2 and have made this the class ultimate.
  • The Empowered Gem for the Ice Sage, "Pain Freeze" no longer replaces, 'Ice Crash' but now replaces the Basic Attack for the Ice Sage. We felt the way Pain Freeze was originally implemented was a bit too uncontrollable or RNG and didn't really support the existing kit or change the overall class gameplay in a way we were happy with, so it's been changed. The changes to Pain Freeze should help round out the class and support the existing gameplay without making the class gem a "must have" for the class.
  • Basic Attack
    • The damage of Basic Attack has been increased by 100% to a coefficient of 2.0
    • Projectile size increased by 100% (from 0.25 to 0.50 block size)
  • Ice Crash
    • The damage of Ice Crash has been increased by 17% to a coefficient of 4.5
    • Energy cost reduced from 20 to 15
    • Ice Crash now chills enemies like Basic Attack, slowing their movement speed for 3.5 seconds
    • Ice Crash now attempts to freeze lava blocks, creating water in the process
  • The Big Chill
    • The Big Chill has been moved to Ability1 and has been replaced by, "Frozen Ward" as the Ice Sage ultimate ability
    • Enemies frozen no longer delay damage but take damage immediately
    • The Big Chill now lasts 3.5 seconds
    • The Big Chill costs 40 energy
    • The Big Chill now has a 7s cooldown
    • Enemies now take damage over time while frozen
    • Initial damage has a coefficient of 3.0
    • DoT damage has a coefficient of 0.66
    • The Big Chill has a critical coefficient of 0.5
  • Frozen Ward
    • Frozen Ward has been moved to Ability2 as the Ice Sage ultimate ability, replacing, "The Big Chill"
    • Frozen Ward now lasts 6s
    • Frozen Ward costs 55 energy
    • Frozen Ward now has a 50s cooldown
    • Frozen Ward blocks incoming damage by 50% while active
    • Frozen Ward movement speed has been increased by 400%
    • Magic Damage is increased 100% while Frozen Ward is active
    • Attack Speed is increased 400% while Frozen Ward is active
  • Ice Sage Empowered Gem, "Pain Freeze"
    • Pain Freeze replaces the class passive, "Coldhearted" and Basic Attack
    • Pain Freeze basic attack chills enemies, slowing their movement speed. (Like the Ice Sage passive, "Coldhearted")
    • Pain Freeze allows Ice Sages to walk across ice without slipping. (Like the Ice Sage passive, "Coldhearted")
    • Targets hit three times with Basic Attack while "Pain Freeze" is equipped explode taking additional damage with a coefficient of 4.5
    • The first hit from Basic Attack now freezes targets for 1s
  • Ice Sage Sub-class Ability
    • All tiers of the Ice Sage sub-class shield now include:
      • Incoming damage reduced by 10% while active
      • Movement speed has been increased by +20
      • Magic Damage is increased 20%
      • Attack Speed is increased 20%

  • Weekly Contest Leaderboards are now on a 4 week rotation instead of a 5 week rotation. Each week there are now four Class PR Contests instead of three.
  • There is a new Bomber Royale Weekly Contest Leaderboard - Weekly Bomber Royale Damage Done. This contest rotates week over week with Weekly Bomber Royale Kills.

  • A Chocolate Sponge has been added to the top tier of Gardening. Note that Chocolate blocks are not required for any plant.

  • Water can no longer destroy anti-gravity blocks.
  • Rare bird deco drops and epic bear deco drops have had their displayed rarity set to Common so they will automatically be looted and won't leave behind extra floating objects. Note that this only affects their displayed rarity and not their drop rate.

Hey Trovians,

We appreciate the support you’ve shown for the Trove open beta and want to thank all of you again for the ongoing, fantastic feedback.

Our next major patch for the beta is focused on greatly improving stability by reducing disconnects and substantially reducing the most common crashes.

The patch with these fixes is going through testing and certification with Xbox and PlayStation 4 now and once they are locked in we’ll be rolling it out to all of you. This process can take time, but once it’s through we’ll get it out to you promptly.

PLEASE NOTE THAT CHAOS CRAFTING RECIPES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. IF YOU DECIDE TO PLAY THE MARKET AS A RESULT OF WHAT YOU SEE ON PTS YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Chaos Chest Changes
  • Chaos chests now drop sometimes from dungeon chests
  • Newly acquired chaos chests are no longer tradable. Previous chests are still tradable. Tradable and non-tradable chests have separate karma bars.
  • Chaos chest common and uncommon tables have been randomized and the uncommon table now includes Chaos Cores.
  • The chaos chest rare table has been expanded to always include all previous chaos chest only collectibles at a low rate.
  • You can use Chaos Cores along with other resources to craft classes, new costumes, and chaos chest specific collectibles.
  • Any chest specific collectibles gained from opening chests are now are not tradable, and loot collect into Chaos Cores. Previously acquired collectibles remain tradable, but cannot be loot collected.
  • Added the new Chaos Workbench to the Novice Crafting Bench. Crafting at this bench unlocks directly into your collection and prevent you from crafting anything you already have collected.

Crafting Inventory
  • The crafting inventory tab is now live!
  • Any crafting materials collected now go to a separate tab in the inventory and can stack up to very large numbers.
  • Right click any crafting materials in your adventure inventory you want to move into your crafting inventory.

Challenge Minigames
  • Details coming soon.

Store
  • There are now three new packs in the store that contain varying amounts of 'Credit Pouches'. These items are worth 250 Credits each when consumed and are tradable.
  • Due to the addition of tradable credits, collectible store items are purchased for unlock rather than trade and some tradable items like class coins and inventory unlockers are now obsolete and have been retired from the store.
  • Starter classes now permanently cost 250 credits.
  • Advanced classes now permanently cost 750 credits.
  • The Dark Dungeoneer, Firey Fighter, and Celestial Champion packs are now only visible in-game for new players.
  • The Snowfest Pack is now available in the store! Get the Tannenbomber dragon egg plus a wintery collection of mounts and costumes that are sure to make you look cool (get it?).
  • It's because cool can also mean cold.

Early Game Changes
  • The makeup of (what used to be called) Novice to Uber-5 worlds has been changed, to "unlock" and feature one biome per world. The worlds are also renamed to the name of the biome that is unveiled. Uber-6 and up are unchanged.
  • Trading, community and club chests, and the marketplace now require mastery rank 20.
  • The Mastery Rank 5 and RAF class coins now only unlock starter classes.
  • Due to the availability of classes through other gameplay means, the class coin awarded at rank 25 mastery has been removed.

Marketplace Changes
  • Removed chaos chests, eyes, and glim from marketplace currency.
  • Since we're increasing how much flux you can store, we figured we should increase how much flux you can charge for your Marketplace listings! The new maximum is 25 million flux

New Dungeons
  • New Frontier Dungeon from Keyser95!
  • New Jurassic Jungle Dungeon from Player214!

Additional Updates
  • Due to the number of legendary tomes we've decided to reduce the experience required to fill them to half of what is now. Have fun!
  • Costumes are now worth 75 mastery.
  • The Classy Kiwi ally has been added to the streamer dream chest.
  • It is now possible to use RMB to move items from the Build Mode inventory to the Marketplace.

Shadow's Eve is Back and Even Better!
  • Pumpkin Dungeons are sprouting in all biomes! Find a giant Jack-O-Lantern and defeat these spooky intruders for candy corn.
  • The Hub is all Shadow’s Eve themed, and includes the Shadowy Station (inside a big pumpkin) where candy corn can be used.
  • You can craft and grow pumpkins once more!
  • The Spookytime Mystery Box is now available at the Shadowy Station. It contains seasonally haunting recipes and the new Hyperactive Haunt and Bouncy Black Bat mounts.
  • The Sugar Crasher and Spirited Broomstick are added to the Shadowy Station as craftable, tradeable mounts.
  • Log in every day for a Shadow’s Eve Daily Reward Chest. This replaces the Daily Reward Chest for the duration of the Shadow’s Eve event, but fear not, you have the same chances of getting rare drops as ever. As an uncommon drop, you may receive Pennry's Phantataur mount!
  • The Phantataur is also available for credits during the event (although honestly, log in every day and you'll almost certainly get one), as is the returning Caskart Mag Rider.
  • Craft the Drak-O-Lantern Dragon Egg or pick it up in the new pack!
  • Some new event objectives are now live! Once you complete the Diamond Dragonite objective these will appear (or once that one expires next week). Complete them all to earn 10 Lapis Luckbugs, 3 Empowered Gem Boxes, and the unique Bitten Kitten mount!
  • Spooky things are afoot. And afloat. Do you see ghosts? How suspicious.
  • This event will run through the end of October and culminate with a special bonus Ninth Life just for logging in on October 28th!

Easy to Use Modding
  • It's now easier than ever to use community created mods to enhance your game!
  • Simply place '.tmod' files into the new 'mods' folder in your Trove installation directory to mod your game.
  • Enable and disable your added mods via the ESC menu in-game.
  • Want to make a mod? Check out this great guide: https://www.trovesaurus.com/page=185...iles-made-easy

Diamond Dragonite
  • You can now craft a Diamond Dragon Egg at the Dragon Crucible using Diamond Dragonite!
  • Diamond Dragonite can be obtained via the new daily contest for total power rank, events, and also a very very rare tradable world drop 'Diamond Dragonite Pouch'.
  • For this week only there is a new limited time objective. Complete 25 challenges (each stage counts for 1) and earn 50 extra Diamond Dragonite!

Store
  • There is a new one time purchasable Dragonite Megapack on the store - this is a great deal for gem boxes and then we threw in 100 Diamond Dragonite straight up on top of that just because.
  • There is now an option to purchase 33 Greater Dragon Caches at once with a bonus Diamond Dragonite Pouch.
  • The Spooky Swag Bag has arrived to set the tone for Halloween! This collection of one Drak-O-Lantern Dragon Egg (which hatches into the very scary Drak-O-Lantern dragon mount), five other great mounts (including Alduir, Autumn's Retreat from Fizzinc ), and four community created costumes:

PTS Update - July 26 Mr. E / Trove Forums

The post is quite long, so we won't preview it right now. Show

The Biggest Little Update Ever

This build has a LOT of changes-that-should-be-behind-the-scenes to support Trove on consoles, however, some of these changes ended up breaking things. Our QA team absolutely crushed what was a very broken build earlier, but there are still going to be many little changes which the developers and QA both ended up missing, or which only end up popping up in a live (or live-like) environment.

So, basically, please help us out by testing every single thing in the game (especially UI screens and functionality).

===JULY 29 - 2nd Update===
  • Fixed an issue where Class Gem Abilities were unavailable after changing classes.
  • Fixed inventory sort so that all gems are sorted together by color > rarity > power rank
  • Fixed bug where Dracolyte could get into a bad state where attacks didn't work after throwing a Burnt Offering right as his/her ultimate ended
  • Fixed bug where Lunar Lancer could get into a bad state where attacks didn't work after throwing a bomb right as his/her ultimate ended
===JULY 29===
  • Flux leaderboard is officially supported again, but it no longer increments when deconstructing megaflux. Flux counter has been reset.
  • Fixed a bug with buttons on the Barbershop.
  • Fixed a bug where stars were missing from inventory items.
  • Fixed a bug where costume images wouldn't appear in the marketplace.

===JULY 27===
  • Fixed a common crash bug!
  • Fixed an issue where wings would sometimes draw incorrectly.

===JULY 26===
New!
  • /sortinventory - this command will automatically sort your adventure inventory!

Misc Fixes / Updates
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when taking screenshots.
  • Fixed bug where, with default bindings, zooming in and out with the mouse wheel in build mode also rotated the block being placed. Now, holding shift while moving the mouse wheel rotates the block, as intended.
  • Fixed a display issue with the stat breakdowns in the Character Sheet where Battle Banner stats were incorrectly included in the total when not in a Battle Arena, and other stats were incorrectly included when you were in a Battle Arena.
  • Fixed a non-display issue where some PvE-only stats were being applied in the Battle Arena.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause some abilities not to play a "Cooldown Up" sound.
  • Flagcapture points in pvp worlds should now rotate correctly.
  • Revenant's Spirit Spears now destroys grass and other plants.
  • Parrot in Pirate Captain - Mad Scientist skin now drops black feathers instead of red feathers.
  • Drastically reduced amount of data sent to client when adding some kinds of objects, which may reduce latency.
  • Fixed a bug where the Gunslinger's ultimate would cause the pitch on its attacks to keep going up and up and up and up...
  • Legendary Eye Encyclopedia has been renamed to prevent confusion with the regular version, and is now called Oculus Opus.
  • Legendary Tome: Big Bomb has been renamed to be more consistent with other legendary tome names, and is now called Pyrotechnics Papers.
  • Fixed a bug where $Text_Like_This could show up in the Marketplace.
  • FIxed a bug where $Text_Like_This could show up when waiting to log in during a queue.
  • Lambent the Neolord and Syluria the Enchanting have come to terms. Stat bonuses from the badges should now stack correctly.
  • Chaos chests no longer give eyes of q'thulhu as uncommon results and instead have a greater chance of pearls of wisdom.
  • Gem Booster boxes have a lower chance of granting dust and a higher chance of granting Jade Clovers.
  • Optimized stats recalculations on the server. May reduce network latency.
  • Fixed a bug where some products would show their Cubit and Credit prices out of order.
  • The Haunted Mansion in the Undead biome has been updated!

Community Content
  • New Treasure Isles dungeon from Screamheart.
  • New mask styles from Xeof, Kot_Manul, Humpypants, DecibHell, illiagorath, MonsieurZero, Asykura, B4ileys, Tomkar, GhostlyKoala, Hirakashi, Mew2ian, and Towerfall have been added to the game!

How long have you been seeing this problem? Try repairing your Trove client by right-clicking it in Glyph and selecting Repair. When that's done, try changing regions in the upper corner of Glyph, then sign in and go to any Adventure World to see if it continues.

Rise of the Shadow Tower Update! Arriving on 9/15/15!

==Game UPDATE==

Lunar Lancer is now live!
  • This fast and foxy fighter can throw spears and grapple to them, support their allies by dropping an area effect buff, and (while fighting) can transform into lunatic mode – dishing out more damage and taking much less.
  • An all-new weapon, the spear is now live and available for the Lunar Lancer

Lunacy Pack is now live!
  • Pick up the Lunar Lancer, both costumes, two new mounts, and two store-bought legendary tomes at a deeply discounted price!

Shadow Tower is now live!
  • Use the Adventurer’s Crafting Bench to craft a Shadow Tower portal that can be placed in your Club World.
  • Unlock normal mode using a Shadow Key, and unlock hard mode using the new Moon Key.
  • Each Shadow Tower floor is made up of 4 Shadow Arenas, or Dungeons, followed by a Shadow Titan boss fight. Defeat each floor once a week for unique rewards in the form of Titan Souls and Lunar Souls (spent at the Shadowy Market at the end of each floor).
  • Hard mode floors grant a 50% bonus to damage to any class that is the only one of its kind. This is reduced to 25% for two of the class and 0% if there are three, or more.
  • Eyes of Q’Bthulhu earned from Shadow Caches increased slightly.
  • The Shadow Tower has replaced standalone Shadow Arenas, thus Shadow Dungeons and the Shadow Lair no longer spawn.

Legendary Tomes
  • Legendary Tomes are now live. These tomes are worth 100 Mastery Points and can be triggered once a week for a large number of resources.
  • Eye and Tentacle of Q’Bthulhu Legendary Tomes can be purchased with Lunar Souls
  • Chaos Chest and Dragon Coin Legendary Tomes are available in the Trove Store.

Deals Update
  • Rotating deals now refresh hourly instead of daily
  • There is no longer a $5 rotating deal and instead there are two $20 rotating deals
  • There are new, rare rotating deals, including a class coin, inventory space, Golden Chaos Chests, and more!

Challenge and Dragon Cache Update
  • There is a new Ancient Dragon Cache which is now earned through challenges and on the Trove Store. This has 3 times as many Dragon Souls, 2.5 times as many Dragon Coins, no eyes of Q'Bthulhu and 35% less Flux. It no longer grants penta-souls as a rare result, but rarely does reward 5 coins or 10 dragon souls.
  • Previous Ancient Dragon Caches will now be called ‘Flux Filled Ancient Dragon Caches’ and remain unchanged.
  • Challenges now only go up to rank 3 and completing this rank grants a full non-tradable Dragon Soul. Uber 6 now grants a 4X multiplier instead of 9X.

Baldness
  • Added a bald hairstyle to the barbershop! Go take off all that nasty hair! Designed by Mr. E.

Additional Updates and Fixes
  • Origin portals can no longer be opened in the Shadow Tower
  • There is now a new set of Neophyte's Wings earned at Mastery rank 10 that are slower than other wings in the game. The previous Neophyte's wings are now Adept’s Wings and are earned at mastery rank 40.
  • The Mega-Skater is no longer available through mastery and will show up again later. The Mastery recliner mount is now earned at mastery rank 30.
  • Golden Thread final objective is now to hit mastery rank 20 and challenges now unlock at mastery rank 20.
  • Fixed a bug where inventory items could appear upside down, especially for Mac users.
  • Reduced the count of consecutive days logged in needed in half for the consecutive days logged in badge. Some people have worked hard to max this, but the barrier was just too high if it got reset. This should make it more reasonable to try again if you can’t log in a day.
  • Fixed extremely rare crash when merchant NPCs are attacked.
  • Custom keybindings for Flask, and adventure item slots have been reset.
  • Untradable Dragon Souls and other untradable items can now be deconstructed for 100 glim.

  • You can now connect a controller after starting the client.
  • Fixed errant cooldown sounds that triggered when changing classes multiple times.
  • Setting the "appear offline" option no longer shows your current location or mastery rank on other's friends list, like if you are actually offline.
  • You can now view your current Chaos Factor in your Character Sheet

Defiance and Trove player Market wanted to share a few of his thoughts on Defiance and Trove. Read on to hear what he has to say!

Greetings Ark Hunters and Trovians!

I’ve been a Defiance player since Beta and spent a great deal of time playing on Xbox 360, PC(NA), and the Public Test Server. I picked up Trove after seeing it featured on the Trion Twitch livestream and I found quite a few similarities between the two as well as some pretty major differences. I could easily write a small book about Defiance and Trove, but instead I aim to give a brief outline comparing and contrasting these two games. The goal is to give some insight on why a Defiance player may enjoy Trion’s other project.

Similarities:
Entertaining combat system with skills/powers and moddable equipment.
Large, open world environments to explore and fight through.
Vast quantities of loot to collect and trade with your friends.
Instanced high-level battles offering a chance at rare treasures.
Daily objectives with special rewards.
Meeting up with friends or random players to adventure together.
Background progression system that allows players to unlock bonus stats and in-game items.
Several unlockable and store-only modes of transportation for your characters.
In-game store offers several items to make life easier in the game or to give your characters personal flair.
Free-to-play with no tricks or traps.

How Trove differs from Defiance:
Build mode allows you to build with voxels in a Clubworld or your own private Cornerstone.
Easy leveling system with different classes, each having their own set of skills and powers.
Community submissions are added to the game nearly every week.
Still in Open Beta, with content and fixes added each week.
Heavy character customization available at any time, allows players to show different hairstyles, hats, masks, costumes and weapons.
Very easy learning curve to master the game.
Countless styles, decorations, and block types to unlock and use in a Cornerstone or Clubworld.
Choose the difficulty of the game by entering different portals into adventure worlds.
Randomly generated adventure world maps guarantees you’ll never see the same one twice.
In-game store has items you can purchase for real money and in-game currency.
Sandbox gameplay.

With half of Trove focused on building, it’s only fair that this subject would get special attention. Clubworlds can be expanded greatly using in-game materials and make a good gathering place for your club members. The best perspective I have on this is from the club I run alongside my son, Sargonnas, that pays homage to our Defiance roots – Defiant Few.

In the Defiant Few Clubworld, we have several constructions to see and more are being worked on daily. We have a Skitterling statue and a scale replica of the Gateway Arch for the Defiance fans. There is a 4-person maze race, a functional 9 hole golf course, and a miniature ice hockey rink. Our latest additions are something Defiance players will be familiar with… Ring courses! To date, there are six finished courses in Defiant few, while two more are under construction using the new updraft blocks. If you want to have some fun with your wings, Defiant Few is the place!

We have some members actively building in Defiant Few. Sargonnas, Fuzz, Etaew, and myself are the club Officers, but we have a few Architects as well. Sarg has a huge string of biomes on the east side of the Clubworld containing some amazing spires, as well as our “expert” ring course. Fuzz built a giant snowman and a scale replica of the ExtraLife Joystick ally. Etaew has been slowly building a castle inspired by another video game in his library. Kithgarass, one of our Architects, is building a temple complex based on the four seasons and it is a sight to see.

I think many Defiance players would enjoy Trove. There are enough aspects of Trove that are similar to Defiance, but several make Trove a game of its own.

Defiant Few would love to see you visit us! Trove is free to play so all you have to do is run a quick install and join in the fun!
