Greetings Trovians,With the launch patch coming on March 14th we wanted to get the patch notes out to everyone early so you can see what’s ahead for Trove.

For Xbox One players you’ll notice the additional stability updates that were already applied to the PS4 version of the game at the end of the patch notes.

Note: Some minor changes to the patch may occur before launch day and we will update the patch notes accordingly.

PATCH NOTES
Loot Collector
  • Opening the Loot Collector imports your entire inventory and allows several new options:
    • If an item you're collecting has a style you haven't already unlocked you'll see this in the menu
    • Lock items to prevent them from being accidentally loot collected
    • "Collect All" button for quickly collecting all unlocked loot
    • Buy back up to 150 items you've collected within the last 24 hours will be available to buy back
Crafting Inventory
  • The spectacular new Inventory update is live!
    • Open the third inventory tab (marked with a icon) to check out the new storage system.
    • Any crafting materials collected will go directly into this new tab and can stack up to ridiculously massive numbers.
    • Items in your standard, adventure inventory will be moved to the new inventory slot when selected. Have no fear, your items are not lost - they are just finding their new home! Locate them by going back to the new tab

Marketplace
  • You can now select and purchase items past the first page of the Marketplace
  • The create button will now highlight properly in the marketplace
  • Fixed a bug that could cause marketplace purchases to fail, but still deduct currency
  • Fixed the Item Type and Currency drops downs in the Marketplace always being highlighted
  • Fixed a visual only Marketplace bug that displayed "Sold" even if you didn't have enough currency to purchase the item
Clubs and Social
  • Club roster UI should now show up properly
  • Added confirmations for promoting, demoting or kicking other Club members
  • The Club button legend now shows the correct options available
  • Only online members are selected when navigating the Club member roster list with the gamepad when Show Offline Members is toggled off
  • Added an option to directly invite players to your current favorite Club via the chat contextual pop-out menu
  • Fixed a bug causing selected Club members to highlight incorrectly
  • Fix for incorrect behavior of the ignore option in the Social menu
  • Fixed a bug that could cause multiple friends to be highlighted in the Social menu
  • Fixed broken ignore/un-ignore functionality in Social menu
Vault Clubs
  • You can now create Vault Clubs! These are small Club Worlds that are used for storage rather than building
  • Craft a Vault Club Card at the Builder's Workbench using Flux
  • Vault Clubs have 15 more storage slots in both the normal and officer club chests, but do not have modifiable worlds
  • The Vault worlds have a rejuvenation station, trading post, loot collector, personal chest, club chest, and officer chest
  • Club Cards can no longer be traded
  • Materials needed for crafting Club Cards have increased
Crafting
  • Fixed a bug with Ringcrafting which could cause new categories to not be unlocked even if you had the required skill level
  • Fixed multiple issues with the Forge which could cause the highlighted button to not be highlighted
  • Fixed various Crafting Bench Tooltips containing hotkey icons that are too large
  • Fixed a bug causing the right states pane in the Forge to display incorrect colors for statistic increases/decreases
  • Fixed crafting tables having oversized text in some cases
  • Fixed the Dragon Crucible UI so that all items can be selected
  • Increased the speed by which the quantity increases in the crafting UI
Control
  • Many of the interactions in the world that previously required you to focus the cross-hair on them now work by being within close proximity. This makes changing worlds, for example, immensely easier with a controller
  • Added analog steering allowing for full range of movement rather than being locked to the cardinal and ordinal directions. This change applies to movement when: unmounted, mounted, boat, magrider, and winged
  • Improved dead zone detection for analog sticks
  • Improved response time to controller input
  • Reduced the button hold time from 1 second to 0.25 seconds for opening the Character Sheet, Class Select UIs and the radial menu for selecting a Mount
UI
  • The tool tip for the loot collector and chaos forge are no longer in ALL CAPS!
  • Removed cubits from the several UI's where they weren't needed to be displayed
  • Fixed the filter for the Class Select UI
  • Fixed a spelling mistake in the loot collector

This week and next week's patches will be smaller than normal. We've started making changes to support a public test server, which means we’ll be working more ahead than we do currently!


NEW IN THE STORE
* Chaos chests have been randomized! Look for some retro store stuff in it this week!


ADVENTURING
* When sailing, player direction on the world map is now based on where the ship is heading, rather than where the player is aiming.


CLUBS
* The maximum club size is now 750 members.


ITEMS
* Shadow Caches now drop one less Eye of Q'bthulhus when they roll a common result.
* Fishing lures are now consumed immediately upon casting, which fixes an exploit. Lures are refunded for failed casts.


CRAFTING
* Pembarr the pirate corgi is now craftable!
* Deconstructing shadow equipment no longer grants tentacles.
* The cost to super randomize at the Chaos Forge now costs 200 Flux, down from 250.


BUG FIXES AND POLISH
* Fixed a bug where the wrong footstep and landing sounds were played in flowing liquids.
* Fixed a bug where you could get stuck fishing underwater.

* The Ice Sage is now live! Freeze your foes and drop ice for massive damage.
* Snowfest is here! There is now a new more festive Hub and more!
* The Rudolph Raptor and Reveling Reindeer mounts are now in the store!
* The Santa Barbarian costume is now in the store!
* Snowfest Mystery Boxes are live! They drop at a rate of 50% from shadow chests in U1-3, U4 always drops 1 and U5 always drops 2. They will also occasionally drop while adventuring in the world.
* New Snowfest lairs from Tribe, Stedms, Lykos, and FriedSushi!
* Golden Holiday Keys are now available in the store - these keys let you open a Holiday Mystery Box (currently the Snowfest one only) and acquire only the rarest rewards.
* Two star stats now have a +30% stat boost.
* Chaos forging has a second higher cost option for forging with eyes. This has a significant chance to 'crit roll' two star stats.
* Basic eye forging on the chaos forge has a small chance to crit roll two star stats.
* Pearls now set the new stat on a piece of equipment to 50% of the possible stat power.
* Your class level number is now increased by each two star stat on equipped shadow equipment and again with each piece of shadow equipment with 15 and 25 forge. This means there is now a max class level of 40 which you can achieve by earning better gear.
* Your class level is now shown on your tombstone.
* Increased chance for resplendent ring boxes to drop shadow rings.
* Startup error boxes should now be more descriptive.
* Fixed an issue where parts of the hub could be destroyed.
* Fixed an issue with fast attack speeds and attacks not registering.
* Attack speed, health percent, lasermancy, and energy regen on shadow equipment has been slightly reduced if you have a piece of shadow equipment that doesn't have two stars.
* Health regen on shadow equipment has been increased.
* U4 is the old U5 and the new U5 is stronger. Shadow equipment drop rates in U4 and U5 have been increased.
* Dodge no longer costs or requires energy to use. Instead there is a short cooldown between uses.
* Shadow Arenas now have slightly increased bonus damage.
* Mushroom bombs, muffin bombs, lava bombs, and lobber traps' explosions now deal similar knockback as NPC projectiles.
* NPC spin attacks now deal less damage.
* Neon Ninja's Stasis Blade effect now reduces the knockback creatures receive.
* Pemblocks' caroling cousin Pemburr can no be crafted from your Crafting Bench.
* Meta rank cap increased to 80. We're still working on the major rewards.
* Arcane flask now lasts 8 seconds up from 6.
* You can now buy the bordered blocks and standard signs recipes on the store.
* Block packs now cost 50 credits.
* The Ice Cream Crusher Candy Barbarian costume now has VFX.

I wanted to give you guys a an early warning of some changes that we're planning for next week coming for forging.

The biggest change is that we'll be adding a 'crit' chance to eye rolling on the forge and adding a second chaos forge option for eyes. This 'super eye roll' will cost 50 eyes and have a significant chance to 'crit' for each stat (crit meaning that the stat is at least 95% of max, or two stars).

In addition we'll be changing pearls so that when they are used they will also set the stat they roll to 50% of its total roll.

The reasons for these changes is to make sure eyes perform the function they're designed to (be used to get the best rolls) instead of there being an ecosystem in which it's best to get a multi-star drop and try to get lucky with a pearl roll.

On top of this we'll be increasing the top end of equipment, making two star rolls actually give an additional stat boost to the equipment, making two stars a bigger jump up in power from even one star.

In a further look into the future we're also spending a lot of time working on the future of Shadow Arenas. We're targeting a new SA type for next week and that is just the beginning. Our goal in the new year is to open up SAs for our community creators, add bigger cooler bosses, and basically expand the gameplay and variety found in SAs significantly.

Quick reminder that downtime tomorrow is planned to be 3 hours. We're posting these notes early but downtime may be extended and this patch may be delayed if we find an unexpected bug.

* It's Movember - check out the store for a 100 Cubit pack which includes 5 styles, 7 blocks, and 1 mag rider
* Tooltips now appear on the character sheet for equipment and styles
* The Springy Sporeling mount can now be crafted at the Crafting Bench.
* Mastery ranks now go to 60! Some mastery ranks now give increased crafting speed instead of crafting materials
* The starting zone in adventure worlds is now more peaceful and has a helpful sign
* Flasks are no longer refilled between Shadow Arena waves. Now, they are only refilled if all players die.
* Added more plateaus and lava rivers to the 'flat' Dragon biome in adventure worlds.
* Added renderer selection to Settings.
* Miner's Troves will now drop progressively more frequently from ore blocks in all ranks including more frequently in Uber-5 than they do now.
* Miner's Troves now have a small chance to drop a random block recipe.
* Fixed Eye of Q'bthulhu cost in Shadow Diamond recipe to cost 5 eyes per 5 shadow diamonds instead of 1.
* The 'Return to the Hub' button is no longer displayed where that ability is not available.
* As part of our migration to DirectX rendering, 10% of game clients will now autoselect DirectX as the rendering option. Users who explicitly set their render device (in %appdata%/Trove/Trove.cfg) will not be affected.
* Updated descriptions on a few crafting machines and made the Terraformer warnings more explanatory.
* Invaders now have a 10 minute lifetime
* Improved Deconstructor, Trading Post, and Style Saver UI.
* Items added to the Deconstructor and Style Saver are now grayed out in your inventory, and can be removed by right-clicking or dragging. Updated Deconstructor and Trading Post UI to match current style.
* Shadow Invasions will now return to whence they came after a moderate amount of time.
* Fixed bug where entering a portal while airborne could result in fall damage after teleporting
* Idle players will now be logged out after 30 minutes.
* Fixed bug where dodging/moving out of range of a workbench makes the workbench unusable
* Fixed Fae Trickster bug where energy is consumed when teleport ability fails
* A Neon City terraformer is now available for crafting at the Worldspring.
* Permafrost terraformers now require Glacial Shards instead of Robotic Salvage.

== FEATURES ==

FORGING UPDATE!
* Forging has been updated to be progressive instead of random! This change has huge rippling effects, and touches every piece of equipment in the game.

EQUIPMENT SIMPLIFICATION
* Equipment no longer has a forge level.
* Individual stats on equipment no longer have hidden power level rolls.

EQUIPMENT POWER
* There are now 5 ranks of power per rarity of equipment, from at 0 to 5.
* These ranks, along with the rarity, determines how strong the stats are on an item.
* Forging increases the power level by 1.
* If the value is at 5 (max), forging it will instead increase the item's rarity by one level.

BONUS STATS
* Bonuses are represented by *s next to a stat.
* Each stat on a piece of equipment can have up to 2 levels of bonus.
* The first one gives +10% value, and two give an additional +20%.
* Pearls of Wisdom can now be used to increase the bonus on a random stat if the equipment already has 4 stats.

NEW SHADOW LEVELS
* Items now have 4 total possible Shadow Levels possible, up from 1.
* Items that are Shadow Level 1 can be upgraded to Shadow Level 2 and above.
* Items that are Shadow Level 4 have more possible health, health regen, and damage than equipment does now, but slightly less possible attack speed, jump, and movement speed.

FORGING
* Perfect Prisms are now used only to upgrade items from Resplendent rarity to Shadow Level 1.
* Chaos Forges can only re-roll the 3rd and 4th stats.
* Re-rolled stats at a Chaos Forge are now effective immediately, instead of after locking in.
* You can still re-roll as many times as you wish.
* Chaos Forges now only use Tentacles as a special resource.

RINGS
* Resplendent boxes can now drop Shadow Level 1-4 rings in addition to Resplendent Rings.
* Rings now give no individual bonus *s to stats.
* Rings always have a power value of 5.

LOOT DROPS
* Equipment can now drop with a random number of bonuses on stats and stars.
* Magic Find can now trigger up to Shadow Level 4.

NEW IN THE STORE
* Chaos chest has been randomized. Try your luck and you may get a clipper, a unicorn pet, or fully crafted meownts!
* The Costume box now gives Boomeranger costumes.
* 50 and 100 Spring Pinata packs are 50% off for this week only!


ADVENTURING
* Adventure boxes now drop slightly less often normally and we’re aiming to keep them live for 3 weeks instead of 2, including an extra week for the Bento Box!
* Thursday bonuses are now +200% up from +100%, including adventure boxes, pemblock and the meownt.
* NPC bosses can now spawn with summoning turrets as an ability.
* Boss quest chests now drop 3 items, and minor quests chests now drop 2 items.


MECHANICS
* Reduced the XP required for levels 2-6. You know. For kids.
* Players under mastery level 5 can no longer join custom chat channels.
* Spikes now deal damage over time as long as you stand on them, rather than a big ‘spike’ of damage.
* Increased the chance for shadow equipment to drop, mostly impacting Shadow Arena rewards.
* Shadow Caches now sometimes drop extra Eyes of Q'bthulhu on common rolls.


GOLDEN THREAD
* Added new golden thread objectives for placing blocks, forging, buying something on the store, and being in a club.
* Split out the initial dungeon completion golden thread objective into two objectives.


BUG FIXES AND POLISH
* Fixed a bug where death sounds didn't play in some cases.
* Fixed bug where projectiles collided with grass.


FOR ADVANCED PLAYERS: GEAR CONVERSION
* Existing high rolled shadow equipment (in the currently live system, represented by the number of *s an item can have) have been translated to their appropriate shadow level rarity.
* High forge equipment has translated to number of stars.
* Shadow Equipment has translated *s in the following way:
 - 0-1 *s: Shadow Level 1
 - 2-3 *s: Shadow Level 2
 - 4-5 *s: Shadow Level 3
 - 6-8 *s: Shadow Level 4
* Shadow Rings have translated *s in the following way:
 - 1 *s: Shadow Level 2
 - 2 *s: Shadow Level 3
