There is a known exploit where you can lose your trading items if you are using a trading post and the block is destroyed, for now Trion recommends that you only use the trading post in the Hub World at the moment as that cannot be destroyed.

There is an issue with player-created Trading Posts that allows the use of an exploit to steal the item meant to be traded.
To avoid this, while we work on the fix, please only perform trades at the Trading Post in the Hub. To get back to the Hub for a trade, press and hold the H key.
We'll add in-game messaging as well, just to be sure the word gets out.
