A Warning on Third Party Sale Websites

Avarem has made a post on the forums warning about the use of third party sites for game items.

Hey all,

The first one (to my knowledge) showed up today, so I want to drop a quick reminder about these sites.

They can cause a lot of trouble for games, and not always for the reasons you think. Their business model isn't just creating a marketplace for the sale of in-game goods, usually what they do is use stolen accounts or fraudulent credit cards to acquire their goods in the first place, making it cheap to get them and easy to undercut the market. This means that any time someone buys from one of these websites they create an incentive for these people to hack more accounts or use more stolen credit cards to buy goods to add to the economy.

As a result we will be taking these cases very seriously and taking action against both buyers and sellers, and I wanted to make sure we are as clear as possible as to why that is.
