New Adventures Await! - Patch Notes
We’re excited to bring you a brand-new update with some significant changes to the Tutorial, as well as a few exciting new features across the game. The update is now live on PC and will be available on your favorite console soon!
TUTORIAL
- The “tutorial” / “new player experience” has changed significantly. The Tutorial now takes place in a shared world, similar to normal Adventure worlds.
- Most notable changes:
- new players no longer receive a mount, mag rail, and wings for free (these are now given at contextually appropriate times as the player progresses the new questline)
- new players are no longer dropped into a ‘solo’ world, and are instead placed in a 0 Difficulty adventure world as they learn the ins-and-outs of the game (the “Tutorial” node in the Atlas will take players here)
SHADOWS ARISE
- Shadowy enemies can now be found roaming around in Adventure Worlds, as well as in Dungeons
TIPS
- A new “Tips” category has been added to the “Badges” section of the Collections UI. The goal of these tips is to provide the same information that the tutorial questline provides, but which remains accessible even after the quest steps have been completed
- Some tips are present by default, and others are unlocked via progressing the new Tutorial questline
- Tips do not give mastery
MINING
- “Dirt” and “Stone” blocks have become significantly tougher to mine
- To compensate for this most +Lasermancy sources have increased in efficacy, including: Mastery Rewards, Allies, and The Grand Orrery Star Chart
- Bomb & dragon projectile block damage increased
MASTERY UI
- Mastery & Geode Mastery rewards in the Mastery Tab on the Character Sheet now have tooltips, allowing you to inspect what they are
- Additionally, the Mastery level at which the rewards are unlocked no longer disappears once the reward has been unlocked
MYSTICISM
- The Herald of the Kraken will now allow players (who have sufficiently progressed in the Kraken questline & with sufficient skill in Mysticism) to obtain BUFF: Augment Buoyancy
- Augment Buoyancy makes it significantly easier to descend when in Water, but more difficult to ascend and applies a Movement Speed penalty.
CONTROLLERS / CONSOLES
- Fixed tooltips for many Hub objects incorrectly giving keyboard instructions rather than console/controller instructions
MISC CHANGES / FIXES
- Enemies in Novice worlds (Difficulty 0) have been made easier to defeat in combat
- The “Default Cornerstone” house style has changed! It now matches the style of the small hamlet found in the Tutorial
- Mouse-over tooltips have been added to the Build Mode hotbar
- Celestial Spheres upgrade button now works properly and no longer consumes more than one sphere after spam clicking upgrade button.
- removed an old POI location that could occasionally be found in Adventure worlds which contained nothing but a hub portal & a friend finder
