Oh! Now i understand it! I thought you had to fill the whole air space with air blocks, thanks for explaining !
You didn't include a sheet of placeholder blocks in the air above your layout! I'll see what I can do.

When dungeons generate it clears all space between blocks. Air blocks act as a 'top block' if you ever want empty space between them and stuff below them, like in this case.

For example, here are some quick screenshots of fae and undead dungeon air blocks.

I created these with some elevation changes to keep the 'carving' of the terrain interesting, but a single height sheet roof over the entire dungeon would work ok as well (the rectangle cut-out might look odd though)

Yup yup! This is because air blocks were not built over the dungeon. This is actually on the creator to do but we can totally take care of it in house. Because of that though, we aren't actively on the lookout so they can some times slip through the cracks. (the way we test dungeons is not in the game world so we cant always tell)

We can take care of this but next time be sure to include the air blocks above your dungeon in the shape of the footprint you would like to cover.

Think of the air blocks like an umbrella and the ground is rain. You need to place air blocks anywhere in the sky you'd like above it to keep ground from showing up below it.

Note this is only for outside the dungeon though, any block that is in the way will keep ground from showing up. So you don't need to use air block inside.

Correct on both. No collision on air blocks and they don't show up in game. You would want to just cover the entire footprint of the dungeon or lair but you can get fancy and make it a more organic shape to let terrain cover it on the edges and feel a bit more natural. I made a post on the sub reddit since I've seen this issue a few times now.

I took care of it. THIS TIME.

That ice cream lair issue is a bug actually... the air blocks don't work on world deco, so this is a rare case of a tree on the edge of a lair creeping into the wall.
