The gamigo group and Trove team are looking for some volunteers to capture video of play sessions that will be used in a Game study.
What we're looking for:
- Approximately 8 volunteers who will be able to record 3 play sessions between 20-30 minutes each. No need for editing, voice over, or adding music; just a literal recording of normal play sessions of up to half an hour each.
- Create the videos on any site that can be accessible to the general public (nothing locked behind a required login). YouTube has worked well for us, so that is the most likely place to place your videos.
- You can absolutely take part in this if you play on consoles, as long as you can share links with us to the video of your play sessions.
- After we've received the videos from our volunteers, we'll also ask for a Skype account name so the professor handling the study will be able to reach out to you with some follow up questions.
We appreciate anyone who is able to take part in the study. Results will be made public once published, but we don't have an estimate for when that will be yet, since the study is just getting started.
Thanks!

I've updated the original post above with an extra line to discuss that, thanks for asking!
Basically, you can record the sessions using whatever setup you'd like. OBS Studio is one way to capture video. You can also just try streaming it directly to Twitch or YouTube and save the replay. Just share the links with us and we'll follow up with you later on.
The study is being handled by a professor external from gamigo directly, but working in collaboration with us. The videos are of normal play sessions, so once we have those, the professor will be able to form specific questions to dig into the way people play. I'll see what additional detail we're able to share in these early stages, but if we tell people we're looking for a specific thing it'll be hard to get meaningful data based on how that would potentially bias sessions.
No specific deadline yet, but sooner is better. We already have a few people who have supplied us with videos, but we're looking for more data to dig into.
We're definitely looking for no frills video here. How one plays when just playing the game is very different from how one interacts with the game when trying to entertain an audience. If you can help with basic recordings of normal play sessions (not taken when streaming) that would be awesome. If not, no worries, we're still open to additional volunteers.
If you want to post it here or message it to me @BulldogFasti on Twitter, I'd appreciate it.
Can I get a Skype name from you? It's needed so the professor can ask follow up questions.
Absolutely! Sooner is better, for sure. Let us get the video links plus a Skype name.
