Heckbugs in Love this year builds upon last year’s event. The Heckbugs will return to Dragonfire Peaks and the Sunken Sunvault and bring all the rewards available last year. In addition, Hybrid Heckbugs replace normal  Heckbugs in the Verdant Veins geode caves. These new hybrids will be available as companions. Also, there is a new ally to receive from the new lootbox, the Cave Hybrid's Trove.

• Players will progress through an 8-step quest chain that rewards the new Cave Hybrid's Trove.
• Heckbugs have found their way into the Geodian Cave called the Verdant Veins.
  • Heckbugs require aid in the same way as Companions.
  • Each Heckbug helped in the Geode caves can drop a new lockbox that rewards Crystals, Heckbug Eggs, and even the new Heckbug Ally.
  • Players can find Heckbug eggs as they explore the caves. These eggs can be hatched to receive and unlock 3 all-new Geode Companions.
  • Heckbugs will still appear in the Sunken Sunvault as they did last year.
• Players will receive an extra temporary Heckbug ally that will help fight heckbugs and has a chance to fall in love with enemy Heckbugs.
• Invasions appear twice as often during Heckbugs in love and shadow heckbugs appear instead of shadow giants
• Heckbugs appear throughout the Dragonfire Peaks zone during Heckbugs in Love. Heckbugs have a shield that must be disarmed by the player’s companion heckbug to be effectively damaged.
  • Once defeated Heckbugs have a chance to drop the Skittering Heart Box, which rarely contains a Bashful Lovebug Mount or a Dormant Block Dragon Egg.
  • Heckbugs can also rarely fall in love with the players companion heckbug, which has a chance to drop a tradable Handsome Heckling ally, a tradable Electric Heckling Ally, or rarely even a tradable Heckbug Monarch Mount!
• Players can find the Heckbug Baby mount from 2020 when helping Heckbug companions in the Sunken Sunvault.
