    Gotta tell you more about this egg so you could get the idea. This is a magical time egg (and because of its magical energy vines and flowers start to grow on it, and if vines touch any tree logs or plants they immediately grow and bloom). It can give anyone the ability to travel in time, the ribbon, which is actually a sort of a ring with some ancient runes (which trovians have already forgotten) carved on it, and roman numbers, which represents how far in the future or past you can travel ( I - 1 year, V - 5, X - 10, L - 50, however the ring is damaged a bit, so you can travel only up to 10 years at once).

I did as you suggested and added the sky for the sun and the star-night sky for the moon, but not the whole egg is covered with it, there are some stone-ish colors, because with every use the egg lose its power and turns into a stone.

I just think that this "story" can make the egg looks more complete.

That is one beautiful design! Those flowers really make the shell feel like it came straight out of some magical fairytale, very nice find!

However, it looks like the egg has quite a lot going on at the same time. I can see flowers, red ribbons, sun and moon and a starry-night background, but it doesnt seem to have a 'complete' image all together.

I think with just a quick recolor this shell can be truly marvelous. 

It is somewhat confusing that both celestials have same colored 'sky' as their background. I understand it might be the space and in that case it makes perfect sense from physics point of view, but with art its generally best to go with what feels/looks right, rather than making things 1:1 correct to original.

Flowers, beautiful as they are, seem to be hovering and not connected to anything. The red thin lines that go to them feel related, but since they are red its hard to visually connect them to flowers.

I would suggest to separate (with color) sun and moon parts of the egg. Making the ribbon and thin red lines green rather than red would connect that to the flowers. Also, blocky things tend to look better in blocky Trove, so it could be good to make the corners of thin red lines squared up.

I did a quick recolor to incorporate those suggestions and see if they could actually work when turned from words into voxels and ended up with following shell. Please dont feel like you have to copy it, its merely an example of how would i approach same idea. It would be great if it could inspire you though :)
