I think the iridescent material actually makes it feel less like icing. Maybe use metal instead. Also I think it would feel better with icing only on the blade and not on the top. Last note is that I would down play the darker brown lines on the blade. Don't remove them, just make them a bit lighter so it's not such a stark transition between things. Great idea though and I would actually save that gingerbread house you had on the older version to put it at the end of a stick or something for a club :)
