I enjoy the enthusiasm and who knows what we will support locally for people in the future but as far as official things for Trove. We will never have textures in the entire world. We have some for performance reasons but we don't have tech implemented for the entire world. Trove is meant to be more colorful, cartoony, and like playing with legos; so solid, vibrant colors are what we want.

It's not that we want to restrict players making cool mods either. It's simply not the art style for the game so putting in a system that supports texture packs doesn't really make sense for us. It's certainly not a desire to hamper a mod community though. I don't think we are ever going to say no to something players make for other players but we probably wont be adding development time on our end to support things like that. Again, I can't speak to the future but right now we don't get a lot of value out of development time on a system that doesn't benefit the team or keep us on the path we need to be on to make Trove what we see it becoming.

I still think things like this are awesome. I'd love to see a screen grab.
