Also, just to be clear - the material maps are not required, models can look good without them too!
But some other creators said they would have preferred to know about Material Maps from the start, so i try to make sure that everyone is aware :)
Thank you very much for uploading the blueprint :) For future occasions, could you please make sure that it is named according to a pattern of styletype_stylename[CreatorsName].blueprint
? That matches the naming of in-game files and makes it easier for Developers when they get to downloading creations.
In this case the name would be - bow_mintchipper[CommonAmmo].blueprint
. mint_chipper could work fine too, but the Capital Letters can only exist within the square brackets on the Name of the Creator. (edit: dont worry, i renamed a file on this creation already)

The bow is REALLY good for a first try! You got all the dimensions and other requirements right, the shape is interesting and the colors are on point :) Seriously, well done!
I would be most happy to approve it as is, but here are some thoughts that you might find helpful. I apologize in advance, it is quite a lot of text:
Material Maps can be used to highlight blocks - these maps can be applied to voxels in Trove to make them shine like metal, glow, be transparent like glass etc.
For example, on your model the mint icecream could use a Water Specular material maps - it would make the icecream appear somewhat glossy in game. You can read more about Material Maps here and a bit more over here. The guide on wiki is a bit off, please keep in mind that material maps can not overlap! - this means that one Voxel can only be mapped on one map (unless its glass), so if you already marked a voxel as Glowing on Type map, you can not make it Metal on Specular map - the game does not know how to render 'Glowing Metal' so it will automatically pick only one out of those two.
It could be good to balance colors just a little bit - personally i would expect the mint chocolate chip icecream to come with dark chocolate. Currently the chocolate colors are closer to the saturated milk chocolate - which can be a good thing! this only depends on personal preference!
BUT even if you are keeping colors as is, it could be good to give them tiny bit more contrast - on a current design it can be hard to see the details on the chocolate bars on the end points of the bow because the shades of brown are very close to each other. Also, there is absolutely no need to make overdetailed models, but it could be good to have tiny bit of shading on chunks that use plain color - for example, the bottom sides of icecream spheres could have a slightly darker shade of minty-green.
I made a quick edit based on your model just to show what i mean. !! you do not need to copy this! Im absolutely sure you can come up with something that would work best for your design :) !!
Original model is on the left, my edit is on the right - i reduced the saturation and light on the chocolate blocks and added a slight shadow on the bottom sides of icecream.
And as an example of material maps - im going to try on a Water Specular:
These maps can be confusing at first, but they are actually really easy to use. Here is a step by step:
- first i make a copy of my model and make sure that my main model bow.qb
is safe
- i am only going to use Specular map without any Glowing (Type map) or Glass (Type map+Alpha map) blocks, so i only need 1 copy
on that copy, i use floodfill option and recolor blocks to assign maps to them - im using Water on Icecream so i color all the light green blocks with 0.0.128 RGB and color the rest with 'unassigned/rough' - 128.0.0 RGB - be sure to only use the colors listed in the guides! even 1 point difference will not work.
Keep an eye on the Pink voxel - attachment point! This one tells the game where to place the model. It must exist in the same spot on all the material maps!
- i add an identifier to my specular map, now this qb is named bow_s.qb
- _s stands for Specular. If i had Type _t or Alpha _a maps they would be named bow_t.qb
and bow_a.qb
i export both qb files that i have separately and now i have 2 qb files.
- i use the devtool_dungeon_QB_to_blueprint.bat
- to convert qbs to blueprint - you only need to drag the main model onto the bat! - if the files are named properly and are located in the same folder the baked blueprint will have all the maps applied! - if done right, i get one blueprint - bow.blueprint
- i check it out in game and see the glossy material on the icecream.
Im going to change the status of this creation to Active for now, hoping to see this bow back on Review!

Also, it would be absolutely glorious to have more candy/dessert themed styles, cant wait to see what you come up with :D Please be aware though - each user can only have one Style/Deco and one Dungeon on Review at any given time. Once Approved (or discarded as Draft) another Creation can take its place.
Also FYI youll be seeing me working on mostly candoria themed weapons. I have a thing for dessert themed skins. Idk whats up with them, they're always just bangers. Also there is very little candoria themed content in the game. Im thinking a candoria themed solarion skin as my magnum opus. Ill try my hand at that when im better at this.
