Well they did it, they shrunk the moon and made it into a sword.
Guess the sun goddesses concern was somehow real.

Hello again!

Unless you are making a weapon that goes with existing costume you dont need to worry about wearing anything specific for the screenshot :)

Sword design seems to be moving in a good direction, i like the new shape, much more unusual than version 1.

There are still some technical issues though. Please always use the Lint and Export button before sending creations for review, that will at least save your time as you wont need to wait for me to check that.

The area around attachment point is now obstructed, you must always leave a 3x3x3 room to avoid clipping with the hands. And there are two corner-connected voxels, those must have a solid connection to the rest of the model.

As for visual side, i have few suggestions that you might find useful. The goal is to give players a 'wow! i have not seen a sword like this before!' feeling. We have way too many melee weapons though so its a tough task.

  • Currently the sword is pretty flat, adding some volume to it would make it feel heavier/more meaningful.
  • Maximum dimensions for melee weapons are 9x9x35 voxels, currently the sword is only using 1x5x27 so you have plenty of room to expand, if you wish to.
  • Pitch black (even above 10.10.10 RGB) and bright white might not be the best option to display the void. Adding some color to the nothingness of space could make it look more refined and interesting.
  • If the moon is the main subject it could be useful to place it somewhere where it is seen better. Place right next to the hand makes it hard to be noticed in game and the color choices make it feel almost as if player was holding a Golden Key with void coming out of it.

I ve made a quick mockup of how i personally would approach the same idea, based on the suggestions above. To be clear, i am not asking you to re-make my version and you do not need to copy it or any parts of it. I just hope it could give you some ideas for your own design.

Im changing status of this one to Active for now, toss it back to Review once you upload a new version :)

I redone the design to be a bit more rigid, It has nothing to do with that skin ironically; I just thought of it as I went because I was really tired lol.
Also an old meme reference, but brutality of a jagged edges is more fun.

Hello and welcome!

I like the idea behind this sword, its very much filled with lore :)

There are more than 900 various melee designs already in game, so i am only allowed to approve Swords that are unique, beautiful and very well-made. It could be easier to get a melee approved if it is a Hammer or sort of Blunt weapon type.

From the description i get a feeling that you might have been aiming to make a sword that fits Star forger Revenant costume? It might be good to borrow those tints of purple and use them instead of pitch-black to make the sword a bit more interesting visually. Also it could be good to try and put more accent on the moon, make it a bit bigger/noticeable.

It looks like you got the shape and surroundings of Attachment Point right, but current model is using voxels of too dark color (below 10.10.10 RGB) and your Material Maps are overlapping. The moon and stars are mapped Glowing on Type but same are also mapped Metal on Specular map. There is no such thing as 'glowing metal' so Trove would not be able to properly display your design. You would need to chose only one and mark those blocks either as white on Type or as rough-red on Specular.

You can check for such technical issues yourself if you click on Trove Creations - Lint and Export button once you have your model opened in Troxel.

Last but not least - please be sure to preview your creation in the game and take a few screenshots of it. It is much easier to see if the design works good or not once you check it out in Trove itself. Step 5 of our how to get started guide has detailed instructions on how to get that done. https://trovesaurus.com/page=3749/how-to-get-started-with-trove-creations#step-5-preview-your-creation-in-trove

Im going to set status of your creation to Active for now, set it back to Needs Review if you upload changes. If you would rather work on something completely different, you could set status of this one to Draft, that will free up a creation slot for another style.

Good luck in any case!
