Eggshell Contest - Chromatic - 4/5

The team really liked this concept but felt like it might not be immediately identifiable as an egg dungeon for the event - the fins just takes it a little bit too far from an egg shape at a distance, and of course we understand your desire to see it fit in with the chromatic color scheme you've employed so well on various mounts and allies. We'd really love to see a full dungeon based on this design.

As for maps, it is a tough choice indeed. I believe the restriction on mapping exists as a Trove team design decision. There were quite some shells already that could really use some glowing to enhance their appearance, but in the end they all made it work with just specular. I believe your design is as beautiful without glow :) Radiant or shadow styles tend to always have glowing blocks too, but the egg shells themed around those turned out quite alright.

I've decided to completely redo the entire egg to be my Chromatic style. Unfortunately, it wouldn't look the same without the glowing aspect of it as its one of the main criteria that I put forth on my style. I'm not sure if they are willing to reconsider. These are the screenshots of the egg shell with the glowing blocks:

I did include the one with the glowing and the one without. ("chromatic" being the glowing and "chromaticnoglow" without glowing)

This egg looks pretty ominous :D Really love those legs!
It would be one of those cases when egg stops looking like an egg from first glance, but since we have that rocket egg approved id say this one most certainly deserves a chance too.

I think its a good choice to go with blue instead of pink. It feels like it is still somewhat recognizable, but on the other hand it is rather far from the original because of an egg body shape and 4 legs instead of 3. To be perfectly safe though, i would suggest to push it a bit further in the direction of Amperium robots (or, may be, Chromatic mechanoids?)

There are couple other things that i do have to mention:

On the inside part of the shell you have some extra voxels where cameras are at. Could you please remove them (both on entrance and back sides) to make sure the inner shell of the dungeon does not get replaced by them?

Lastly, when spawned in the world, those nice sharp legs get hidden in the ground, in a perfectly-flat terrain case ofc. It might be worth it to lift them slightly higher up.

I am going to change the status of this one to Active. Hoping to see it  on review again!

I've decided to make some changes to the design of the egg to be a bit more... non-intellectual property friendly.

I like it, but as for me, it looks like Portal bots.
