We love seeing what our Trove Artists create and we want to start to regularly include them in our new series to highlight our community members. This session we chat with MochaMint who is a long time and regular contributor.

This Artist was nominated by WyvernWarr, we will look to seek nominations each time.

I always wanted to do trove-y fan craft, using real gems :3

What can you tell us about yourself?Top ^

I'm MochaMint, previously known as Pasteis. I'm 22 years old guy from Busan, South Korea. I currently study Metal Crafts and Textile Art in college. I also study Gemology, I sometimes trade collector-quality gemstones.

Where does your name come from?Top ^

It derived from Mint Mocha coffee of my favourite cafe. Most of my nicknames were picked from something that is edible.

How did you learn about Trove and why did you start playing?Top ^

bout 3 years and 6 months ago, after I took Suneung(college scholastic ability test of South Korea), my ex-ex-boyfriend asked me "Since important test is over, are you interested in sandbox RPG games?". He recommended me to play knight because I'm tank lover. And everything started from there.

What's your favourite part of Trove? What keeps you coming back?Top ^

16 unique classes! I love them all.

Making process was quite boring, but I still love this :3

How did you get started creating art for Trove and why?Top ^

At first I started with some random Trove  doodly comics. One day my friend suggested me to enter the 'gunslinger class contest' on Trovesaurus, I tried little more effort and uploaded it.

Have you produced art for any other games?Top ^

Some Terraria-inspired crafts.

I made them a lot but I cannot find pictures ._.

What motivate you to continue creating art for Trove?Top ^

When I play Trove, new stories happen every time. Each story inspires me a lot, that makes me keep doodling.

Which other Artists on Trove inspire you?Top ^

mau5head and I sometimes do art-collabo, I can tell that she inspires me a lot. Also, I really love MrWhoever's powerful and strong art style. Peridorito cheers me up every time, she always help me to improve.

How did it feel when your first art was shared on a livestream or highlighted in a contest?Top ^

First time my art shared on livestream, I was like "OH MY GOD WHY AVAREM WHYYY!!" I literally freaked out, I couldn't eat anything that day.

Humid early summer moods :3 I really enjoyed drawing this.

What is your design and creation process?Top ^

Random scene strikes my head. Then I turn hard DnB musics on, make rough sketch of scenes. Then I sketch & color at the same time.

What tools do you use to create art?Top ^

I use Clip Studio Paint Pro for digital art. For the traditional art, I use Prismacolor pencils, Shinhan Markers, and some cheap pens. When it comes to crafting, I try different materials every time.

What is the most challenging thing about creating art?Top ^

I'm extremely moody and spontaneous. If it takes too much time to draw, I get easily bored. Then I have to abandon them.

What advice would you give to new artists starting out?Top ^

There is no such thing as 'bad art'(exception:stolen art) so let's just try. It doesn't have to be 'perfect'. You tried and that's important.
